how much does score it charge? ~Cook
  2. I am like you. I want to do well, but I don't expect to ace the test either. Remember the test is one-on-one. You are not competing with anyone else. Well, you are competing with the other applicants, but the test is you and the CAT. Keep your head straight, and you will be fine. The school I am considering wants above 60%, so their expectations are not too high, but I am very limited as to where I can apply by location since I can't move my family and spouse. Anyway, I found the information on the school's website. You might want to search the website and see if you can find it. If not, give them a call!
  3. I came up with D and A also.

Thanks, GRE Pupil! I really appreciate the confidence. I think I can do it, but then I get nervous. You know what I mean, I am sure. I am actually excited about doing well on the test. I just don't want to blow it. Anyway, I will perserve. I will. It might be good that I am nervous. At least I am willing to work on it. BTW, I love you sig line! :)

  6. That is true. I was thinking of listening while I was driving or something, so I was thinking it would be very hard to read and listen. You have a good idea if you use both. Thanks!

    Average Score

I am looking at English programs, and the person I spoke to said they want you to hit above 60% of the people who took the test (I believe it was 60%). I was just curious what score I need to aim for.

Honestly, the vocab scares me. It is imtimidating to look at the list of words. I am trying to memorize them, and I am doing ok - not great, but ok - but there are so many. It is just intimidating. I think that is the big thing - I have to convince myself that I can do it. It is such a mind game. I have been using the Kaplan book to do the tests, but I haven't scored them yet. I don't know all the math, but as I work the problems, it starts to come back to me. I think I will do ok with the math by December, but I have to get in gear to learn the vocab.

Can someone tell me what the average score on the GRE is and how the scores relate to percentages. I know it changes daily, but there has to a baseline somewhere. Cook

Thanks for the welcomes! I am nervous about the test. I feel overwhelmed when I look at the information, but I am trying to get through it. Cook
  11. That was a helpful post! I guess if you get stuck on the first few questions, it would really blow your confidence. It is all a mindgame. I need to try to remember that when I take my test.
  12. From the ETS website: Will there be an on-screen calcuator? No. An on-screen calculator will not be available.

I am new to the group. I have five weeks to prepare for the test. I am nervous about the test, but hopeful I can do well. I am looking at a doctrate program if I do ok on the GRE. That's all. I just wanted to introduce myself!
  14. I don't know where you can get an audio list, but I haven't looked. It seems to me that if I hear someone say a word but I don't see the word, I might not recognize the word when I see it on the test. I think seeing the word would be better for testing for me. I think an audio and visual program would be nice!! :)
