IMHO if u want to solve(not just pluging in) it then here is my approach we have 24=2*2*2*3=8*3 (1)if 2 is not a factor of n then the n-1 and n+1 are even numbers and one of them have has 4 as a factor then (n-1)(n+1) has 8 as a factor (2)if 3 is not a factor of n the either n-1 or n+1 has 3 as a factor(at least one of three consecutive integers is divisible by 3, since it's not n, the preceding or the next integer is divisible by 3). putting 2 statements together we can see that (n-1)(n+1) has both 8 and 3 as a factor thus divisible by 24
