Glasgow was recommended to me as a good place to go by a Professor at LSE where I did my undergrad.

i applied for phd, assume i haven't got that but not heard about the ma yet either

I'm guessing they keep an awful lot of MSc slots open at least until the MRes decisions are made, since most will have MSc as their 2nd choice. Saying that, they seem to admit a very high number to the MSc programmes.

There's my rejection, hotmail knows what they are and puts them straight into my junk mail folder!

Yeah of course, I'm not disagreeing that it is definitely the most expensive place to live.

You guys have expensive tastes. I lived on £1k a month for 3 years as an undergrad but I didn't live cheaply at all. An awful lot of non-rich people at LSE do live outside Zone 1.

i think he is saying he applied to these places, and wishes to know if anyone else who did has been admitted/rejected yet...

London's not that bad, can get by comfortably on perhaps £8k to £10k. Is tuition waived too?

No idea overall, but I had some of the best undergrad econ results at LSE, still no word either way about MRes/PhD.

My rejection just in, I'm not sure if its at least a postive signal that it took this long. Anyway, no US this time round, hopefully I still get a choice between Canada (UBC) and UK (LSE or Oxbridge)

From the website.... March 1, 2008* Majority of applicants notified by email of results. Applicants denied admission will be notified by email only. Applicants recommended for admission will be notified first via email followed by a letter in the mail. March 15, 2008* Remainder of applicants notified of results. Anyone got any info on why some results are left to March 15th?

rejection finally in online, got an email saying to check

someone earlier said they'd emailed columbia and and all admits had been sent out, also the fact that they haven't sent out any rejections at all

Still no official Columbia rejection... but at least we can be certain that no news from Columbia is a rejection, unlike at Berkeley.
