  1. 1000/A - 5 = (1000-50)/B ----------------1 (1000-30)/B -5 = 1000/A -----------------2 Solving these equation we get B = 2 m/sec A = 25/12 m/sec Therefore the time taken by A = 1000/(25/12) = 480 seconds.
  2. There is a close call between A and E. But when we look closely, E wins over A because the use of companies' earnings (plural) in E.
  3. If I have not done any calculation mistake then it should be. D. (x + a) / (x - a) = (y + b) / (y - b) or, xy+ay-bx-ba=xy-ay+bx-ab or, ay=bx x/y= a/b x^2/y^2= 2/3 that means x^2+y^2 should be a factor of 5. hence D.
  4. I had to do it manually. Calculated it to some exponents and see after how many exponents last two digits start repeating.
  5. Please post the OE. I think we need to multiply it with 5C4 also because the question doesn't tell anything about the specific four fingers.
  6. Every 35 minutes they don't work together for 10 minutes. in 180 minutes 50 minutes they have not worked together and 130 minutes they have worked together. Hence A is greater than B.
  7. Why have you not multiplied it by 5C4???? I think we also need to consider the various ways in which we can select four fingers out of five.
  8. We can get any value between 3 and 18. Total no. of events is 16. Total no. of ways by which we can get more than 10 is 8 (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18). The probability of outscoring Mary is 8/16 = 1/2
  9. 4*5*6*7*8*(5C4) = 33600. Lets see what's the OA.
  10. The problem will become more complicated if the order of the rings in one finger will also be considered...
  11. I assumed that not more than one ring should be put in one finger. If there is no such restrictions then the answer should be 4^5= 1024
