  1. A school administrator will assign each student in a group of n students to one of m classrooms. If 3 (1) It is possible to assign each of 3n students to one of m classrooms so that each classroom has the same number of students assigned to it. (2) It is possible to assign each of 13n students to one of m classrooms so that each classroom has the same number of students assigned to it.
  2. Is it 192? Given there are 4senior partners and 6 junior partners. For 1st team let it be SJS for second team SJJ We can count it as 4C1* 6C1* 3C1 + 4C1* 6C1 * 5C1 = 4*6*3 + 4*6*5 = 72 + 120 = 192.
  3. I think it is C. Question says is |x| = y - z? or is y - z a positive number? Stmt 1-----> x + y = z i.e. x = z - y or -x = y - z (this can be + or - depending on x) (INSUFF) Stmt 2 -----> says x is -ve. (nothing about y and z) Putting them together as x in negative. y - z is positive and SUFF and equal to |x|.
  4. I think it is d. Given w + x Stmt 1-----> says x + y Substract eq2 from eq1 w + x - x + y ---------- w - y Stmt 2------> Given y Leaving x from the inequality. y 0 it is sufficient to answer the question. Please post the OA.
  5. I think it is D. One more thing is x can be 0 in addition to 1 and -1. But still the rest of the analysis holds good.
  6. Q1. My response is C. Given a.b != 0. Means a != 0 and b!=0 Also given that points (-a,b) and (-b,a) are in the same quadrant. This means sign of a and b are same(either both positive or both negative) else they wouldn't be in the same quadrant. for example let (a,b) = (4,4) then (-a,b) = (-4,4) in the 2nd quandrant. Similarly (-b,a) = (-4,4) again in the same quandrant. Same can be shown if the signs of both a and b are negative. So for (-x,y) to be in same quadrant as (-a,b) and (-b,a) we have to show that both x and y have the same sign as well as as sign of x and y is same as sign of a and b. From stmt 1-----> it says sign of x and y are same. but no relation to whether the sign is same as that of a and b.(insufficient) From stmt2----> says sign of a and x are same. but no mention of sign of y.(insufficient) Putting the together:- Sign of x and y are same at the same time sign of x is same as sign of a. so (-x,y) must be in the same quadrant as of (-a,b) and (-b,a). It took quite some time for me too. Not sure if there is a quicker way to arrive at the right solution.
  7. I chose E. but i see that is not the OA. However I am not convinced with the OA. I think it should have been of the form "return to x ...from y". Rather it is of the form ""return to ... to y).
  8. sometime back there was a discussion about this on this forum. I guess you are confused between A and D. A is wrong because it has a modifier problem i.e. it is not the "the question" who is "assessing the problems faced by rural migrant workers".
  9. I don't think "who" can refer to "to the percentage" ever. In my view both "who" and "finishing"(because students is the subject of the main cluase) are correct as both of them modify "students". there are other errors which help identify E as the right response.
  10. E. Between 1979 and 1981 the United States minted about 857 million silver-colored “Susan B. Anthony” dollars, which Few things which should have been there:- 1. A coma(,) after 1981 is needed because "between 1979 and 1981" modifies "the united states" 2. the main clause ends with plural "dollars" and "which" after comma(,) is referring to "dollars". So in the part after "which" the sentence cannot have singular "it" to refer to plural "dollars"
  11. @Suwarnapatel I started with 640 on MGMT test 1 and reached till 760 but I am not sure how reflective the tests towards the end as MGMT gets easy towards the end. In my GMAT prep exams I scored 730 on first and 740 on the second one. both taken in the last week. I read your debrief, congratulations and truly inspiring. I think I will retake the exam and this time work on my verbal.
  12. Thanks ap1010. Well, that is the thing I am not sure if this is a reason to celebrate. I know that GMAT score doesn't get you in, but it definitely can keep you out. I think this score it will keep me out of most of the colleges where I was hoping to apply.
  13. Today I wrote my GMAT and am dissapointed with my GMAT score. I feel so dumb. Will retaking GMAT affect the decision of colleges when they decide whom to call for interview and whom not to? I am not sure if my scores would go up, but now atleast I know where I faulted. So it kind of gives me hope that if I work on the deficient areas I can hope for some better results. I am thinking about retaking the GMAT. Any suggestions?
  14. I think it is E. First part of the sentence says "OPEC will cut there production", so the second part of the sentence should also be in future. That rules out C and D. For A and B, there is no need for "but". the structure is "If A then B".
  15. Agree with CoolStruggler, it should be D.
