Hey guys... gave my Gre today... Scored 1500:).. Am ecstatic right now..
I would share my experience with you ppl... The analytical section was typical... But my advice no all test takers for whom english is not a native language(like me), would be to practice atleast a couple of essays primarily for timing... Then the usual 10 min break. i hurried to the rest room and to my surprise was back within 3 mins... Anxiety was keeling me.. so i cancelled the break & there came Quants... First few questions were really straight-forward but still i checked and rechecked... First 2/3 part went pretty well then got stuck up in a couple of questions ... time was fast disappearing in front of me... made a few educated guesses and finished just in the nick of time... All in all it was quite good and was satisfied with by performance...
Then came the Verbal section... Which too, much to my amusement, seemed pretty simple... on reaching half-way, i dreaded that i had blundered it, cos the level seemed to be too simple... I really dont know how i answered the last 10 questions... time was never a problem but strangely my mind had stopped working and i was answering almost mechanically... But somehow, at the bottom of my heart i did have a feeling that i had fared pretty well... And so it turned out to be...
I am elated...
Being an engineer, Math was never really a problem... But i owe all my success in Verbal to Barrons (Wordlists) and Big Book... Big Book is a must and an indispensable tool...
Do feel free to ask if you have any queries...
I had been lurking in these forums for the past month and a half and they have been immensely useful... I couldnt contribute much because of my tight schedule... but from now on, i would definitely make it a point to contribute in whatever manner i can...
Cheers !!!
