  1. Thanks a lot everyone... The maths forums have been great... i mean i didnt do much of maths... I just skimmed through the threads in the last 15 days... As far as verbal is concerned, though i did have kaplan and Nova, my basic concentration was on Barrons and Big book... Once you are confident with the words in barrons, just go through kaplan and nova... Nova's wordlists are particularly good if you want to do some extra words apart from Barrons(of which i dont see any need)... Now regarding my scores.. i never attempted any quants section and had used up all my test 15 days prior to my exam... Just revised wordlists and Big book for the last 15 days... and it worked for me.. Scores :: Powerprep 1st 610 2nd 670 3rd 730 (after resetting, so some of the questions were repeated) Kaplan 1st 540(2 months prior) 2nd 590(1.5 months prior) 3rd 640(a month before) & in the practice sections(38 questions in 30 mins) got on an average 32/38 did give one Cambridge.. didnt get a score but only two were wrong.. Gave a couple of 800 score verbal sections... 1st 640 2nd 670 (had a lot of new words.. so i wont recommend it in the last 10 days..) Hope this was helpful...
  2. Hey guys... gave my Gre today... Scored 1500:).. Am ecstatic right now.. I would share my experience with you ppl... The analytical section was typical... But my advice no all test takers for whom english is not a native language(like me), would be to practice atleast a couple of essays primarily for timing... Then the usual 10 min break. i hurried to the rest room and to my surprise was back within 3 mins... Anxiety was keeling me.. so i cancelled the break & there came Quants... First few questions were really straight-forward but still i checked and rechecked... First 2/3 part went pretty well then got stuck up in a couple of questions ... time was fast disappearing in front of me... made a few educated guesses and finished just in the nick of time... All in all it was quite good and was satisfied with by performance... Then came the Verbal section... Which too, much to my amusement, seemed pretty simple... on reaching half-way, i dreaded that i had blundered it, cos the level seemed to be too simple... I really dont know how i answered the last 10 questions... time was never a problem but strangely my mind had stopped working and i was answering almost mechanically... But somehow, at the bottom of my heart i did have a feeling that i had fared pretty well... And so it turned out to be... I am elated... Being an engineer, Math was never really a problem... But i owe all my success in Verbal to Barrons (Wordlists) and Big Book... Big Book is a must and an indispensable tool... Do feel free to ask if you have any queries... I had been lurking in these forums for the past month and a half and they have been immensely useful... I couldnt contribute much because of my tight schedule... but from now on, i would definitely make it a point to contribute in whatever manner i can... Cheers !!!
  3. a better bridge for the last one(15) would be X is Severe form of Y... blizzard is more of a prolonged snowstorm than a severe one...
  4. best thing would be you master the barrons wordlists first... that will cover a major chunk... then its all application in ANTONYMS and SENTENCE COMPLETION...
  5. Finally... wats the oc ????:hmm:
  6. although in the beginning of the sentence suggests contradiction and so C suits best...
