  1. I still have to check the v section out, so I cannot tell. i have the ETS' GRE 10th ed. book and I am preparing for the V on the book and PP. I found another site, but I still have to check it out . You can go ahead and see if it is any good. this is the URL http://www.west.net/~stewart/gre/ let me know
  2. as I already suggested, a very usefull Q and V section for practicing is on the GRE site. (did you dawnload the Powerprep?????) Join their diagnostic service. It is only $15 and you’ll learn a lot on each of the math abilities tested by GRE. There are some 10 questions for each math section (data analysis, problem solving, geometry, probability etc.) ordered by increasing difficulty. At first you have to answer to the questions. Once finished you can review your answers and the explanations for the right answers. I found it indispensable. Some of them are tough but once explained they seem easy. The web site is. http://grediagnostic.ets.org. there is also a verbal section with RC part, Antronyms, analogies and sentence completion. I only tried the RC part and, believe me, it's tough. overall I think that, with powerprep, this is the best practice you can get. try also the questions at http://www.west.net/~stewart/gre/
  3. Do the Powerprep q section, either practice the tests (you have 2 of them) or the questions (there is a nice and thorough q section). It is probably the best way to assess your math preparation.
  4. muchas gratias. estuvo the mucho aiudo. todavia tengo que comprenderlo pero con un poco de tiempo llegero jo tambien...i hope I won't make in the AWA as many spelling mistakes as I made writing to you in Spanish... thanks
  5. Another suggestion is to take the practice questions on PP for the Q section. For each Data comparison and Problem solving section there are three sets of 20 questions with explanations. Go over all of them, you'll learn a lot and improve. Expecially, check the explanation for each question. The second thing you should do is to subscribe at the GRE diagnostic service. It's 15 bucks but it's worth it. They have a q section with some 10 questions, tough ones, for each math skill tested on the GRE test. Once you'll get familiar with those, I am positive every test will seem easy. I am telling you this because I have the test on the 7th and I am doing exactly what I just suggested to you. And I improved a lot in a relatively short time. The third thing is to forget about the Christmas holidays...no pain no game
  6. Here is another one. I did it the first time but now, that I went over it again, I seem not to be able to solve it!!! From GRE test preparation 10th ed. page 242 #14 n* = 32 - n A) (n*)* B) n could somebody explain?
  7. for the first is A (paradoxically won't fit in the sentence and all the others just are unfit too) the secon is B
  8. I told you I owed you one and here I am. I downloaded their 2 months ago and found it good for the first minute... If you know -as I figure you do - that: 1) it is better to estimate ( eliminate three obviously wrong answers) 2) on the comparative questions to plug a 0, 1 or –1 often gives you the answer 3) it is good to draw the shape in the questions about geometry 4) ETC. Well if you knew all this already do not download their stuff. Rather, a much more useful review and practice on what you’ll likely find on the GRE Q part is on the GRE website. Join their diagnostic service. It is only $15 (not the $39 something of the GRE secrets) and you’ll learn a lot on each of the math abilities tested by GRE. For sure it’ll take you no longer than half a day to complete all of them. When familiar with even the most difficult question I am sure every question on the D day will be a joke. I strongly advise you to get the diagnostic service. Here is the web site. http://grediagnostic.ets.org. After all who knows better what are going to be the instruments of the torture than the “perpetrator” of the torture?
  9. i ma sagacious too but not that sagacious... thank you ashhad your help was much needed. I owe you one
  10. is there anyone out there who knows the answer tho the units digits question? please?
  11. Powerprep question: n = (28^3) A B the units digit of n 4 since 28^3 = 21952 I answerd A (28^3 = 5 units digit) but PP gives b as the right answer. Maybe I didnt understand what Units digit means? Can anybody help?:)
  12. ok. the problem is when I first started I used to get over 700 on quant, and very low on the verbal.Than I started practice and now my verbal is getting close to 600. not too much but, believe me, much better than before. I am Italian and this helps I think. It is couse lots of words you guys find uncommon are actually commonly used in my language. Therefore with some normal, not transcendental practice, I can get better. Besides there are so many web sites where to get words! What is killing me is the Math part. I was practicing on the ETS GRE book and it wasnt too bad I am aiming at somewhere over 700. Than I started the Powerprep and noticed the skills tested there are a little diferent frm the book; enough to make me go down from 700 to 600 (the more I practice the lower I get). So I think the better strategy is to focuse more on the powerprep. I'll do at least one a day or more if my brain does not evaporate [banana] -exactly, this is my brain after one test...- To cut it right to the chase (is that the word?) I need to know where I can find sources to practice the skills required on the powerprep that seems to be the closest kind of test to the real thing. please, please, pretty please, can anyone suggest me some good tests besides the PP? did anyone try those 5 tests for $14 something sponsored here on the left end side fo the screen? By the way: do what you want but I purchased the GRE secrets stuff and believe me: almost $40 for that is a robbery, an embezzlement a...enough. any helpon the quantitative part would be gold to me. thanks
  13. i couldnt use the link to http://www-ec.njit.edu/~grk4352/. everybody seems not to be able to get anything out of it. I am downloading the one anupama suggested. i'll tell you later what I got.
  14. any suggestion about good sources for tackling that part of the verbal s.?? I went through the 7 tests in the GRE edited By ETS (10th Edition) and realize I dont know too many words to feel confident. besides I could learn all of the words in the book and than on the real test have to do with others terms. is there anything I could use to cover as many words as humanly possible and just incinerate the analogies nd antonyms part?????? ciao naked to the target;):D
