  1. Let's See The question is asking is distance between x-y is greater than distance of x from 0 minus distance of y from 0 the answer will be yes or no. When this kind of scenario possible? Draw a number line if x and y both positive and y what if x and y both are of same sign? then the scenario asked can never be true. Again draw a number line and see. Hence XY> 0 the answer is NO.   6. put 8 members to M we are left with 22 members put 12 members in S we are left with 10 members. Now if 5 members for R is chosen from 12 members of S, the 10 members left will not be part of any group. Hence 10 is the highest no of members .

  20. simplest way to understand stmt 2. y is an integer also y = |x| +x and y all the three conditions can be met only if y=0.
