  1. i am not from a maths background.... well quant is all about practise and getting your basics right.. too to be honest i am not that kind of a guy who has excellent basics...but i practised a hell lot of quant...send me your email address... i can send you some practice material.... at times when i wanted to practise quant.. i used to pick any random question from ps/ds section of testmagic and solve it....in the end i had a collection of good problems which i accumulated from testmagic and which helped me get my basics right..... iwas really bad in inequalities and cord....but i improved due to testmagic... u can definitely go from 40-43 to 49.... u have to know what kind of questions you can expect in gmat.... many users post a lot of questions from gmat prep...make sure u solve each one of them....i am attaching the document i made for myself for quant....
  2. Took GMAT yesterday... got 710(Q 49, V 36). Before i begin i must thank 12rk34, e.cartman, shooter and genius in the gene for their excellent explanations... if it wasnt for them i would not have even scaled past 40. If you guys ever plan to come to New Delhi, India..send me a mail on gcvbt7t@gmail.com... lunch is on me. Quant was pretty much the same as in G Preps... infact was easier in the real one... my prep scores were 680,710,720,750.... got two or three questions from cordinate geometry.... thankfully had none from probablity. I used TESTMAGIC extensively for quant practise...and please do solve OG11 maths - the PS and DS questions... the last 100 ones are good and help to build on basics.. if you are weak in inequality as i was... pls work on it.. expect 3-4 questions in GMAT on inequalities.. there are a couple of other documents floating on the net like manhattan archive, which is of 90pages... i used these as well to practice quant.i didnot refer to 1000 PS and DS... i think one can use it in the first 20 days of GMAT prep... after that its not reqd... also regarding those 31 sets... i just did first 14-15 of them... well the score 36 says it all... i didnot practise verbal as much as i should have... infact i just took 3 days off from work before the exam and i was just working on quant... would have spent some 2 hours in SC, 30 minutes on CR and none on RC.... so guys please practise before u go for the real one... if not anything else...please practise RC.. i think OG 10 (its not a typo)... is an excellent resource for SC...i went over it again and again and it did help me a lot... CR as you all know is about power bible and practise... my first question in GMAT was a SC bouncer.... it was a huge sentence with almost everything underlined..i cud make out that i was in for tough times ahead.... RC was tough.... CR was easier than expected.... try to solve first 250-400 questions of 1000 SC and 1000 CR.... i does help to some extent. the first practise essay i wrote was 15 hours before the exam... guys please dont take it lightly.. please read a lot of essays and practise atleast 5-10 before you go for the real one... in the end its all about holding your nerves.... thankfully i wasnt nervous at all....i kept pumping my spirits up and i prayed a lot..it really helped me... last piece of advice... please ensure that you take the full length practice tests atleast 2-3 before the real one... imean (essays+quant+verbal)... i never took one and had a hard time concentrating in the last hour of the exam....the pretty girl sitting next to me didnt help my cause either... ;).not a great score.... aiming for ISB in hyderabad, NUS, Rotman, INSEAD... guys please guide if this score is decent to get a call....
