  1. iamcste, Nice explanation, I was arguing between B and D.
  2. Nice Q, I had the same doubt (who Vs whom). Per the foll link (excellent explanation by the way), I understood that 'who' refers to Virgin Mary here, we can ignore "they say", so A is correct. Grammar Girl :: Who Versus Whom--Advanced
  3. I first chose A, but after reading ekvall's explanation, satisfied with D. Forgot that among refers to one item only.
  4. Agree, 'as' is used for comparing two clauses here. D has passive voice, will avoid.
  5. D has the right parallel str...'which' should be avoided here
  6. yeah, its A, since the Q stem says n>20.
  7. Its B for the same reason stated by Kabutar.
  8. Yes spring2009, in GMAT, we should have the same result. i.e., two statements cannot contradict each other, atleast I have not seen one yet. second stmt says "there is a total of 17 chairs in the last rows.". Could this be a typo ?, should it say "last two rows" ?
  9. Yes, we need both statements in order to find target for March. Also, the first statement says, 310( December target)= y+ 9x, not 6x.
  10. Its C because rate cannot be 'faster' I remember seeing this before !!! Source: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gmat-sentence-correction/101084-rather-instead.html
  11. IMO, its B. As long as x is greater than 0 and less than y, x^2 is always less than y^2. the stem says x
  12. Thanks kool_sunny, dint see ur update before posting.
  13. Hi GREMAT, Can you please send a copy of this zip file to lucky3blue@gmail.com ?. Thanks in advance.
  14. Among all, 'required of' is a better option, go with B.
  15. Iam going with D simply because of "led to the Australian". BTW, what is OA?
  16. Except A, all other options start with a capitalized letter, is that normal in GMAT ?
  17. The question is "Is the total cost of the computer greater in State A than in State B?" I guess it refers to the the cost of the whole purchase i.e., computer cost + tax, not just the computer cost. So IMO, the answer should be B.
  18. I would actually go with A because : From the stimulus, we get c=2w/5. St 1: c/m=5/11 => 11c=5m => m=11c/5 => 11/5 (2w/5) [subs c with 2w/5] => m=22/25w => m/w=22/25 given that its a ratio, we can say the ratio of the number of women to the number of men is 22 to 25. So sufficient to answer the Q. I think we can substitute c with the given info from the stimulus !! St 2: Insufficient.
  19. I would go B as there is no info on P1 and P2 (cannot assume).
  20. For E to be correct for 34, the only reason that I could think of is, if we want to pause and give two specific examples for recycled commodities, then a comma should exist before and after "such as aluminium and other metals".
