  1. Hey.... I just found out that the results for april 2011 are out.... I PASSED!!! If anyone taking the September 2011 exam needs any help, just inbox me!! Good luck :-)
  2. Hi, The exam was meant to start at 8:30am but started at 1:30pm instead. I think the exam was hard, i used the pharma synapse books. If the exam had started on time i could have performed better. There was not a lot of food available in the building we were taking our exam in, especially no coffee or hot drink and being 5 months pregnant with not a lot of food is not a good combination!! Good luck to all those who took their exam on 14.04.2011, i hope well all pass :-)
  3. Hi, can some one please explain to me the control drug rules i need to know for the exam... some of the rules seem to be similar to those in the UK like the 5 schedules and so on.....but i cant get my head around the Rx validity and filling of the Rx. Please help!! Thanks.
  4. Hi, I had the same problem! In the end i got my cousin in the USA to make the payment on my behalf.

  7. Helloo... I am from Birmingham UK taking the FPGEE in April 2011. I am not sure which books i should use to study from? i have bought the CPR book by Leon Shargel , but i am not convinced its the right book to use. I am thinking of ordering the pharma synapse books as well but they seem to be slightly expensive.:hmm: Any thoughts or advise from any of you will be very much appreciated. Thanks [clap]

    Hi sukz,

Sorry for the late response, I didn't see you message earlier. I can't really remember how I paid as it was in 2006/07 but I think it was by an international draft. I recently paid Califonia board of pharmacy for my intern license and I used my HSBC bank. I called them to requested for an international bank draft in US dollars payable to a US bank and I picked it up the next day. But i was charged about 20 pounds based on the amount. Barclays bank are abit naughty saying they don't do it. But specify that the payment must be in paper form and not electronic wiring.

I'm still looking for sponsor, seems the poor economic situation has slowed down employment.

    Hope this helps

  9. I have not started studying for the exam yet, i am waiting to hear from the NABP. From research from the internet, it seems that about 3 -5 months studying is required to pass the exam.
  10. Hi, I'm a pharmacist in Birmingham, UK wishing to relocate to the States and have applied for the conversion exam, so perhaps I can help answer some of your questions. Please note that these are the steps that I had to take for my application along with the charges I had to pay: In order to actually apply for the exam, what you'll need to do is contact the NABP to get an application form to sit an FPGEE exam. As part of the application process, you'll need to also apply to the Educational Credentials Evaluators (ECE) to get your educational certification evaluated to the American standards, which costs $85 + courier charges. In the UK, you'll need to contact the RPSGB to get a certificate of good standing, which costs £75.00. You'll also need to contact your university to obtain certified copies of your original transcripts, which need to be sent to the ECE directly by the university. The application to NABP (which includes examination fee) costs $800 (approximately £520 with current exchange rates), which we had so many problems with. Apparently, the form of payments they accept are certified checks, cashiers check, or money order, none of which the UK banks can provide. What we had to do is to get a family member to send off a money order on our behalf, so you may need to do the same. All of the exams have to be done in the States according to their new rules. You will also need to sit an English exam TOEFL iBT in the States as well. Be prepared to pay in the region of around £700-800 in total just to apply for the exam. I hope this helps, and good luck.
  11. hello,

I am in the process of applying for the FPGEE exam. In order to make the payment to them, they have requested either a Certified check, Cashiers check or money order, however UK banks don't recognise any of these forms of payment, only an international draft. May I ask how you paid for your exam?

Also, have you received any sponsorship from a US pharmacy, and if so, which ones are the best to apply for?

    Many thanks
