Ok guys,
About a month ago, I was rejected by my safety school, a PhD program ranked in the 150th range. I received the rejection letter from the graduate school (Thanks God I subsequently got into my Top choices). In the meantime, it appeared that one of my LOR writer contacted the director of the PhD program about my application (That was after I was rejected, apparently my recommender was not aware)....So now I received another letter from the graduate school offering admission with funding.
I won't be attending this school, but how common is it for Econ PhD programs to reconsider applicants after they have already received an initial rejection letter? I would assume the Graduate School will be quite pissed off about that
