  1. You definitely should email them, if you've been waiting for 67 days. Never heard of that before.
  2. Thanks for your replies. I actually have 3 years at most to do that, cos I have one year left in college and will work for 1-2 years.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian permanent resident, but I'm in the USA majoring in Energy Economics and Finance. I have about a year left in college (tons of summer classes :D) and then I'll be going back to Canada to work and get some experience before heading to business school for my MBA. All my college life (1st semester of freshman year excluded lol), I've worked towards going to an Ivy League business school, specifically Wharton. Thing is, my parents want me to go to BS in Canada cos that's where I probably would be working. I know there's a lot of networking in business school, my question is this - does it really matter if I went to BS in the US, and want to work in Canada afterwards? How easy do u think it would be to get a job in Canada, after BS in the US?
  4. By your, I meant yours alone, and not anyone else - to mean that you can survive on scholarship money, and working.
  5. If you got a full scholarship, you will be able to go. Then, work to cover your living expenses. That's what most students I know do.

  7. If your visa is pending cos of administrative processing, I don't think it is something to be too worried about. In most cases (what I've heard) - you get denied immediately. Administrative processing is from the embassy's site. Same thing happened to my friend and he later found out that it was cos his name was the same as a man on the US wanted list (a terrorist) or something like that. He was given his visa in about a week after he got the notification of 'administrative processing'

    apply for f-1 visa

You can get an F-1 visa. Have you paid your SEVIS fee. Go to the US embassy website of your country, Jordan and check out their requirements.
  9. I don't understand what you mean by the right paper work to live in the US. As far as I know, you look at potential schools, check out their admission requirements, take necessary exams, apply, get your visa, and move over here. I don't think your wife would be able to work in the USA, if she came with you on your study visa.
  10. Some schools accepted certified photocopies, while some schools will only recognize an original.
  11. I agree with the user above. I advise you to IMMEDIATELY stop one school from further processing your I-20, as I seriously believ that having 2 I-20's issued is going to haunt the immigration process esp at the embassy.
  12. Come to think of it, there are less blondes!!
  13. I try my best not to think of my family and friends. What they're doing, etc. That helps. Sometimes, I can't help it and I do think of them and I feel worse, cos I know I can be with them, having fun, doing the things we did when we're together. In times like that, when I can't help but think about them. I let it be, cos I know that it's okay to feel homesick. Another thing that helps me a whole lot is never being idle. I don't go out a lot, and even when I do - it's usually to watch a movie with the gals, or trips to Walmart. Even when I'm in my room, doing nothing - I'm usually Facebooking, Youtubing, or chatting on gmail (I'm not a fan of FB chat btw lol). This is something that a lot of my friends do - we don't allow ourselves to get bored and lonely. When you do, you get really depressed and sad, you think of all what you're missing back home, instead of thinking of how amazing the U.S. is - it's truly a horrible feeling. If you have so much time on your hands (summer break uh huh) - read tons of books, watch TV shows online nonstop, volunteer in the hospital or nursing home (you kill time & it looks good on your C.V. **wink**) But that's just me. I know some of my friends love calling home - it makes them feel less homesick. Some Skype all day long. Try doing different things, see what works for you. Again, it's OK to feel homesick, just don't let it pull you down - LIVE YOUR LIFE!! Source: Q & A: What do you do when you're homesick? | So You Want To Be Homesick
  14. Here's a link I think will be helpful if you'll like to study in the USA: Study in the U.S.A, Step 1 | So You Want To Be Homesick
  15. You probably got an email and/or letter of admission in the mail notifying you of your admission, signed by someone. You can send an email to that person telling him/her that you would like to defer your admission for a year, due to personal reasons. Then say when you plan to start school. That's what my brother did. He did that a couple of times lol.
  16. Thanks for your reply. Signature Rule Violation Posting signature links isn't allowed until you have reached enough posts to use the signature feature in the profile. asquare, the mod said that cos I put a link to my blog in my signature.
  17. By the way, I didn't need a credit card number. I paid at the embassy.
  18. By the way, what do you mean by a bank statement for fixed assets? Is it for your visa interview?
  19. You can only work on campus 20hours/week. After a year, you can apply for CPT and work outside school. But it has to be a job directly related to your major and approved by your school.
  20. I'm kinda confused. When will you be rewriting this exam that you failed? You're applying for Fall 2010, which probably means you will be leaving in August/September right?
  21. The worst thing that could happen at the embassy is that they might delay processing your visa due to "administrative issues". It's happened before in a case where someone's name matched the name of a criminal on the US Most Wanted list or something like that. They eventually gave him his visa and explained why there was a delay. That's the worst case scenario and I seriously doubt that you will be denied cos of that. Good luck and tell us how it goes.
