  1. Safal: I believe you do not need to have an active intern license to take NAPLEX AND CPJE. Since you already took these exams once, that means your hours are all accounted for and you do not need to have pharmacy intern license. However as always, do send an email to CA Board of Pharmacy and confirm. Hope that helps. drrd95
  2. Thanks Mimimj: Yes I did send an email to CA board of Pharmacy and they did reply back within a week. Their response was - On very rare occasions the intern pharmacist license cannot be renewed. They also mentioned that 2 months before my license expires and if I do not have necessary hrs completed, I can write them a letter and request for a extension along with a reason, why I couldn't complete my internship in the specified 2 years. So thanks again for validating what CA board of pharmacy wrote. drrd
  3. Thanks Singjuba for your response. However, could you support your answer with some sort of evidence.? Is there any official documentation/link that you are aware of? Is there a way to appeal if there is a genuine reason for not being able to complete the forms. Is the rule really so rigid? I certainly will be like to hear back from you. Thanks drrd95
  4. Hello, I have a question for CA registered intern pharmacists (foreign graduates) Is it true that intern license is only issued for 2 years after FPGEC certification and cannot be renewed if one is not able to complete 1500 hrs in 2 years? I would certainly appreciate a feedback and replies from fellow CA intern pharmacists who have knowledge about this topic. Thanks drrd95
  5. Hello Tonykhoury: Please see this link. http://www.cshp.org/uploads/file/Shared%20Resources/licensure_tips.pdf It does not say anywhere how the 1500 hrs of internship should be earned. If it was required to earn the hrs at retail as well as hospital. It should have been mentioned. I have searched the site for CA BOP and have not seen a single document that mentions that to fulfill the requirement the experience should be earned in hospital or retail. Hope it helps.
  6. Hello Canuk and Shahina: I would be interested too. I am based in Northern CA? drrd95
  7. Hello Sairarafiq: I will be very interested in knowing about the intern position in Sacramento. I am a CA registered intern pharmacist and live within driving distance of sacramento. Would you be able to provide details. I look forward to your response. Thanks so much. drrd95
  8. Hello Tonykhoury: Congratulations on starting yur internship. Of what I have read and understood, you can complete 1500 hrs of internship in retail or hospital. CA board of pharmacy does not differentiate. May I ask, what would be your suggestion for finding an internship. I am also an intern pharmacist based in CA and have been trying for 1 year with no luck. I do not need sponsorship. Any suggestions would help! Thanks drrd95
  9. Hello Phdlee and others: Check this out. This still may not exactly answer the question that you have asked in this thread. However it is interesting analysis of how IPG (International Pharmacy Graduates) will be absorbed in Pharmacy Practice in the next decade. Check out table 1 and 2 on Page 11 and 12 http://www.nipcweb.com/Pharmacist_Supply_Projections.pdf Best, drrd95
  10. Hello Edit, From some of the previous posts that I have seen, it looks like, it does not matter whether the hours earned are at retail or hospital. However, the best thing is to call or email to CA -BOP. Congratulations on your continued internship. I am an intern pharmacist too, but haven't started my internship as yet. I am curious to find out, how long did it take you to find the internship ? Thanks
  11. Hello Gui:; Thanks for your response. I am still on the hunt, and hoping one of the days, someone will say yes!
  12. Fluenz:; Congratulations on getting CA pharmacist license. I do not have any info on Nebraska MPJE but wish you best of luck. Would it be possible for you to share some experiences about your CA internship? Did you work for an independent pharmacy or a chain pharmacy. At what stage did you take NAPLEX and CJPE? Any sort of insights that you may have will be helpful. Thanks
  13. Hello Seleen, I sent you a PM. I have formulation background and can help in compounding issues that you may be facing. Thanks drrd95
  14. Yes, I am a certified pharm tech for last 1 year and I have been applying for pharm tech jobs for last 1 year, no luck as yet. I don't need sponsorship. I am willing to relocate to anywhere in CA. So far I have tried everything but nothing has worked.
  15. You can find info on PTCB.ORG. This site has all the info you need, the exam blueprint, you can register for the exam. If you have a educational background in pharmacy, it should not be difficult with little bit of preparation and studying. For study guide - try Patricia Delmar- Guide to pharmacy tech certificate. You can buy from Amazon.com
