The Georgetown Masters program in Applied Economics just began last year in 2011.
I was wondering if anyone on the site has any information about the program other than what's available on the website. (Here's a link to the program webite: Masters Program - Department of Economics - Georgetown College). Is anyone currently attending the program or are there PhD students at Georgetown that can vouch for the masters program's rigor, intensity, quality of admitted students or flexibility? I know that Georgetown's PhD in Economics program is a top 50 program. I'm wondering if the Master's program reflects this or is better or worse.
I was told by the program coordinator that the core classes are taught by full time faculty (not grad students or adjuncts). Other than that I don't know how intense it is.
The full-time students from the first class will graduate and get placed this year. So hopefully we can learn what employers and doctoral programs think.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
