I have received one on April 4. I really wonder if they have made any offer so far.

Actually, I am in the same boat. Here are my thoughts; Frontier micro research is not done at UMN. If you're satisfied with working at Colleges, you can achieve that objective with UMN degree.(colby college,vassar college). Most of the outstanding placements of UMN seem to be the product of Chari, Kehoe, and Jones. My adviser told me that it is very important to be one of the top guys in the program to be placed well.(especially at UMN where supply of "good" advisers is limited to macro), and TSE master would help me a lot in achieving this in any program even if I prefer to go to UMN later. In the end, without master degree, it is highly probable that I will end up with being average guy. If I study micro at UMN, situation will get even worse.

From my experiences, I think you had better retake it again. 3.5 is in acceptable range, but 3 is not (excluding the rare cases). My only deficiency was my GRE(3.0 AW) before the cycle.I got rejections from the places where my friends with less stellar grades got in.Though, I got 750 Q at first try(some schools got that score), I got 780 ,550, 3.0 on the second try.(I have sent it to most places after deadline)

Thanks a lot for suggestions. I'm 23 ,so I consider myself young. :) After seeing TSE M2 placements in this forum, I am leaning towards TSE M2. They may fund my master with Eiffel Scholarship. I heard that they have strong reputation at NWU, Kellog, Upenn. I am not an expert on this issue, though.Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I am facing a weird dilemma. My interests lie in game theory and mechanism design and their applications.(not pure theory).Since I am an undergraduate student, I know my research interest may change in the future.So the question is that Is it worth doing masters to try my chances at top 10 or Should I take UMN offer? I was rejected almost everywhere because of my bad GRE 750. So, additional year would give me the chance to fix GRE and take grad courses. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

I have insider info, (but I can not explain how I gain this knowledge because of some issues) they finalized their admission list. However, marjorie does not want to deal with tons of mails asking their status. Marjorie responded my e-mail after I got my inside info.

hi conger, it seems that you got great offers from US universities after M2 ecomath. Would you mind giving info as to what you did after finishing M2 program?I suppose you applied to US universities after spending 1 year at TSE. Thanks a lot in advance.

hi dsdoodle, Could you give some info regarding the stance of micro theory at UMN? As for now, I am interested in game theory, decision theory. Can you tell me the pros and cons of studying micro theory at UMN in terms of placement, quality of advising etc.

I am not the one to answer this question as I am not very experienced in this process.However, I think it is better to have contact with director of graduate studies. Most probably, administrative staff does not know the details of the waitlist etc. Another thing you can do is to ask administrative staff at first, then director of graduate studies.

However, I doubt whether this e-mail means anything in considering that people got offers from NYU. I do not know whether one can get an offer from NYU without being notified beforehand.

Is NYU rejection official or implicit?
