  1. i gave GRE in october and got 322( Quant:169/ Verbal: 153/AWA:4.5) and TOEFL i got 114. I applied to ten universities and following are the results:- 1. University of Michigan (Dream):- Reject 2. Georgia Institute of Technology (Second Dream):- Awaited 3. University of Pennsylvania: Reject 4. Texas A&M University:- Reject 5. Arizona State University:- Admit 6. Ohio State University:- Awaited 7. University of Texas - Dallas:- Admit 8. University of Florida:- Admit (with $12,422 Achievement Award) 9. North Eastern University:- Reject 10. University of Southern California:- Awaited Okay, so as per my knowledge and research, UTD is out of question and now if in case I don't get an admit from GaTech or USC, then I would have to choose between ASU and UFL and if I do get an admit from OSU then I would have to choose from ASU vs OSU vs UFL! Criteria can be umm... Standard of Education, Internship and Job Opportunities and also fees. So, if you were in my situation, what would your order of preference be for ASU, OSU and UFL. I am looking for Masters in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems). And I won't be pursuing PHD. Also, is there much difference in MSE and MS? I have an admit for MSE from ASU (on the website they say MSE is a non-thesis degree) while it is MS from UFL. Also is USC worth so much more than ASU/UFL/OSU that I should pay that kind of fees for it? I know GaTech is worth it and I guess I am correct??

thanx man...!! btw, i have already applied now... :)
  4. I did my list from Barrons and then revised form Kaplan and I found them to be appropriate!
  5. No, the scores will not be averaged. First, it depends on you which score you decide to send to the universities. That is, when on the ETS website, you select to send scores to a particular university, you can always choose as to which out of the three scores you want to send. Also, if you send 2 scores to a university, they usually consider the best out of the two. The scores are never averaged! I hope it helps, if you still have doubt, buzz me again!
  6. I started in mid July, studying initially about 2-3 hours a day and in the last 1 month I studied about 5-6 hours a day!

  8. I gave my GRE on October 17, 2011 and received 153/169/4.5 on V/Q/AWA. In my process to study for GRE I came across loads of websites that helped me to prepare well and I would like to share them with all my fellow friends, so that they need not spend the same time on searching for them. All these websites are free. 1.Online Tutoring, Homework Help & Tutor for Math homework | Free Testing for Learners Great website for sectional test practice, the time and number of questions aren't exactly as per the GRE test standard per question but it provides a decent test practice topic wise for all the topics in both Quant and Verbal. There are a few full Sectional Tests too. It has full length tests too but they are paid. On the flip side, u'll never get to know the answers as to know the answers there is a price to pay. But the price is also very nominal. 2. 99 Percentile GRE Prep | GRE Preparation Also a good site but the drawback is the number of questions to practice. I found it a bit less but the site maintained is pretty impressive, has a good amount of questions on the new types for both Verbal and Quant which can be accessed separately as well. The tips and Tricks are nice. 3. Free GRE Practice Test Only for QUANT as the Verbal Section is still based on the previous pattern. 4. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gre-sentence-completions/113217-scs-database-dr-garu-explanations.html Absolutely brilliant for TEXT COMPLETION (previously called sentence completion). Extensive number of questions to make you perfect for getting it right every time. (This link is on this forum somewhere) 5.Tyrannosaurus Prep SAT & GRE Vocab Game on Facebook | Facebook Facebook App. Brilliant to improve your Vocabulary. Half to One hour a day on this (that too while you are facebooking) and see your vocab improving tremendously. 6.4Tests.com - Free, Practice GRE - General Exam Not a necessary website but is useful once you are through with all your basic practice and just need some extra practice to do. 7.GRE Practice Tests Online | GRE Question Papers | GRE Sample Tests for GRE 2010 - 2011 | JumbotestsSparkNotes Test Prep: GRE Information Center Both the sites are good but again only for QUANT(minus the new numeric entry questions) mainly, but one can also practice Text Completion and RC(minus the text selection question). The Verbal has still not been updated. You may try Antonym just for fun and to check on your Vocabulary. 8. GRE Word List Prep, Learn Word List, GRE Vocabulary, Barrons, Download, for GRE, TOEFL, SAT Test- LearnWordList.com An ABSOLUTE NECESSITY if you are looking to improve your VOCABULARY. There are various interesting techniques such as crosswords, flip cards etc. that make vocabulary learning a pleasant thing. Also once registered they send regular word lists to your mail alphabetically. 9. Number2.com :: Free Online Test Prep One of my favorite websites. I practiced a lot from this website. Topic wise questions and a great amount of questions (so far i haven't seen repeated questions). Once registered, they also remind you in case you forget to sign in for a long time and not practice on their website, which is a good thing because one does tend to forget after signing up. 10. Welcome to Kaplan Test Prep Website by Kaplan, and you don't have to pay while signing up, neither do you need to buy the book, you can at-least get 2 Full Length Tests with complete analysis based on question level, question topic etc. Besides you also get to attend classes of 1 hour but the timings may be a little odd ( they do so by EST) and in that 1 hour class, only the first half hour is good, in the next half they tell about their books and stuff so if you intend to attend, make sure you are awake when it starts. The tests are very nice and accurate and i would insist that one does take them before going for the real GRE. That's it from my side. Hope it helps. All The Best.

    C or D?

Answer is C, both equal The Coordinates (right top) of first square are (3,3) The Coordinates (right top) of second square are (5,2) The Coordinates (right top) of third square are (6,1) Thus, a=6 and b=1 2(a+b) = 2(6+1) = 14!
  13. This is really urgent, i have my gre on monday...please help asap!!! Comparison Question:- Column A +7 Column B Sqrt (36+49) According to me... sqrt(36+49) = sqrt(85) = 2 values, one negative and one positive while Column A= +7 hence answer would be D, Cannot be determined. BUT the answer given is Column B is Greater!! IS IT TRUE THAT WHILE TAKING SQUARE ROOT WE ONLY CONSIDER POSITIVE VALUES??
