  1. Masoudnbox, where in your profile ??? I could not find any website
  2. Obviously it is a typo.... I think the question should have been stated as follows..... What is the Probability of picking an ordinary unstamped enevlope.. which will be the number of unstumped ordinary enevlops 35-25=10 over the total number of enevlopes 70 10/70 = 1/7
  3. Calm down.. I feel you were angry writing the last post  and iam Yemeni not Egyptian well, the answer is mostly about the concept of the slope>>> the slope of the graph of f is 4 and this graph intersect with Y coordinate at 4 which means for every unit x moves over to the right Y goes up by 2 units now, the choices A and B whe have slope 1 which means that for every unit X moves in those graphs Y moves only one unit up which means that the graph f is moving faster and with the Y intercepts for A and B being less than the Y intercept for f they will never meet in one point so no intersction. For Functions C and D the slop is 2 which is the same as the slope for function f means they are moving at the same pace but they are parallel too to the right side and with there intercepts at y less than the intercept of that for function f they will not meet we can conculde now that for a function to intersect with the given function f , we need a slope greater than 2 and Y intersecpt less than 4 in this way the function will move up in a pace which is faster and no parallel quality will shown. which is the clear in the last choice E with the slope 3 ( faster than that of slope of f which is 2 ) and has a Y intercept -2 which is less than 4( the Y intercept for f )
  4. do you mean what f(x) stands for?? if that was your question then it is just Y >>> the function of x f(x) = Y
  5. Thank you flying2finn... it helped :) and as you said the wording is confusing..
  6. Flying2finn.... as you mentioned the right answer in the book is 12 not 20 but still confused how you got it....
  7. Hello, would you please help be to better understand this problem.... the whole explanation is there in Nova's book but I still could not understand well, When the price of oranges is lowered by 40% , 4 more organges can be purchased for $12 than can be purchased for the original price. How many oranges can be purchased for 24 dollars at the original price? A. 8 B. 12 C. 16 D. 20 E. 24 thank you in advance for your help
  8. Hello, In a problem it says that a sore sells Brand A item and Brand B items at %75 and %80 respectively, off list prices My question is .. if the list price was the same for both brands and lets say list price is X, then the selling price for both items would be as I can understand from the problem is ... x-3x/4 and x-4x/5.... that's how I understood it from the information given... but in the solution for this problem they put the selling price as the following... For bandr A selling price is 3x/4 and for brand B selling price is 4x/5 I got confused because according to my understanding OFF the list means that we well substract the percentage of the discount from the orginal price, but if it was OF the list price so we would only get the percentage. Please correct my understanding if wrong because I got the whole problem wrong based on this point. Here is the complete question A store sells Brand A items and Brand B items at 75% and 80%, respectively, off list prices. Kuring festival season, discounts of 20% and 25%, on Brand A and Brand B, respectively, are offered. Spinach tins of Brand A and Brand B have the same list price Column A : Cost of spinach tins of Brand A during festival season Column B : cost for spinach tins of Brand B during festival season
  9. where from did you come with this question?? I tried to figure out an answer that corelates with the options given but could not get any?
  10. I know how agonizing it is to be in such a dilemma, If I were you I would go for another exam if I can trust my Verbal and writing, considering your strong math background, it is easy for you to make better score in this section in the future if you study more. I think you are the only one who can decide for you as you are the one who can judge your Verbal and Writing abiliies. Good Luck
  11. I agree with you Erika that some of Nova's answers and solutions are kind of vague, but among those books availble to review math, Nova's is the best. Thank you Megamind, I had questions about the same problem and you did great[clap]
