Hello,
In a problem it says that a sore sells Brand A item and Brand B items at %75 and %80 respectively, off list prices
My question is .. if the list price was the same for both brands and lets say list price is X, then the selling price for both items would be as I can understand from the problem is ... x-3x/4 and x-4x/5.... that's how I understood it from the information given...
but in the solution for this problem they put the selling price as the following... For bandr A selling price is 3x/4 and for brand B selling price is 4x/5
I got confused because according to my understanding OFF the list means that we well substract the percentage of the discount from the orginal price, but if it was OF the list price so we would only get the percentage.
Please correct my understanding if wrong because I got the whole problem wrong based on this point.
Here is the complete question
A store sells Brand A items and Brand B items at 75% and 80%, respectively, off list prices. Kuring festival season, discounts of 20% and 25%, on Brand A and Brand B, respectively, are offered.
Spinach tins of Brand A and Brand B have the same list price
Column A : Cost of spinach tins of Brand A during festival season
Column B : cost for spinach tins of Brand B during festival season
