  1. .....got ya.... I knew you would read this if i ask you for your opinion :encouragement:!!! But to be serious, I recently finished my first semester in my masters. My first goal was to obtain a Phd in the long run but i am not sure anymore. One reason is that I did not perform as well as usual and some exams realy gave me a hard time. And at the end, my grades were average. I gave myself deadline (september) to decide what to do in the future (phd or not). This is just my background and one thought I carried around the last time. But do not misunderstand me, I am in a good mood. The question i would like to address to you is: Since I can choose only one specialisation, I am wondering what to choose. In general, I have two hearts in my chest. One is bumping for Macro and the other for Micro.....! Actually, there is a tendency for Micro. We have a field called Applied Microeconomics. And in this field, i am somewhat interested in behavorial economics and neuroeconomics... The question: Since I really would like to connect my profound knowledge in quantitative methods with my specilization, do you think it is possible in this field? Thx
  2. I am on the waiting list too. I received the same text like luciano. Funny detail: the .pdf is named ilovepdf.com! They seem to use a freeware to convert the documents. btw.: does anyone know how many apllicants do not accept the scholarships??? Maybe beeing on the waiting list is not such a bad result...
  3. Hi, I have been accepted by the Bracelona Graduate School of Economics (M.Sc. Economics). I am happy about this offer. But I am not sure whether to accept it or not. The reason for my concerns is that I consider my mathematical background as weak compared to others. I am not the worst and I think I can deal very well with math but I think the mathematical training at my undergrad school is below average. Are there any people with experiences with the BGSE programme? Thanks for every comment.
  4. I am currently preparing my CV. As a undergraduate student, I worked as a student tutor. I was responsible for preparing excercises and teaching their solution to the students attending class. Is this the same like a teaching assistant? Can I write I worked as teaching assistant? I am not sure and I do not want to lie. :encouragement: I am from Germany if it helps anyone to answer this question. It is kind of urgent because I want to submit my application today (my personal deadline :onthego:). Thanks a lot to everyone.
  5. LSE is stating that they expect their students to aim for at least 780 in the quant in the GRE. Depending on the admission procedure, they don`t even look at your application if they have similiar application profiles with quant>780 (I would do so to save time). But I am no expert. I am just guessing....
  6. My short profile: Bachelor of Arts in Socioeconomics with major economics (Grade: 1,5. 1,0 is the best grade you can get in germany from 1 to 4) I have at least one good LOR and I am sure to get an other one. Toefl: 105 And I think I can write a good Statement of Purposes since I am very motivated. I want to apply for the Master in Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets. I am going to make my GRE in the beginning of february. Do you think I should wait for the GRE results to emphasize my capabilities or should I try to apply as soon as possible? Do you think they would admit me for the Msc. in Economics?
  7. Can somebody help me solving question 8 and 10 b on the same page? I simply don`t get it.... and maybe 11 on the next page (if anyone has the book).
  8. more precise: look into "view orders" in your toefl-account....
  9. Found it: TOEFL: Internet-based Test: Test Preparation (look at the last free offers on this page). I think they put much effort into hiding it... ;)
  10. I am preparing for the TOEFL with the help of princton review. They are mentioning a full-length practice test on ets.org which I did not find yet. Does anyone have any clue where to find the test mentioned? Thx for your help :)
