Yep. This sounds pretty reasonable! The expected return of the T20 should compensate its higher risk in order to make sense. But the expected return is not given and difficult to measure. Maybe controlling/mitigating the risks is a better strategy.

That ">95% chance of being out" thing. I didn't hear anything from OSU and UT Austin yet. However, it seems they have made some offers so far. I hope there's still any chance for me there.

I called them in the beginning of the week and they told me all the offers were made and accepted, and that they hadn't a wait list. Wierd...

That they have already finished the applications review, and as consequence have selected all their accepted and waitlisted applicants (and there's a short list already closed)? Or that all their offers were made & accepted, and, as consequence, all the spots are already taken?
