I understand the directions the words in the problem are telling me what to do. It was figuring out 1/10% that was throwing me. I found a simple explanation in the Princeton Review. I don't care what the HATERS say about PR, I found it to be a wonderful resource. Thanx anyway

Can someone please show me step by step how to solve this problem.(I am horrible at math, so please make it as easy as possible) I cannot figure out how I am messing up my conversions. :mad: When 1/10 percent of 5000 is subtracted from 1/10 of 5000, the difference is: A) 0 B) 50 C) 450 D) 495 E) 500

I haven't seen the latest edition of the OG, but I have seen the 10th ed. Are the answers to the MATH portion any easier to understand to math challenged folks like myself?

Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm REALLY weak in math. I hate to admit this but I'm really worried about performing well on this test.

I am sick and tried of logging in to the forum and some new posting of someone that scored a 700+ on the GMAT!!!! :mad: I'm finding it very discouraging :( because I have posted a few threads asking for help & advice on the quant section and I don't believe I've gotten any helpful responses. I get answers like, "Do all the problems in the OG" Well, for someone that struggles with math I could look at a problem all day and still NEVER figure it out. Are there any average American students on this site????? Anyone just get an average score? Did you still get into an MBA program???????????

Does anyone fit this profile? Where their Verbal score is much higher than the math? Was your final score 500+? I'm horrible in math and need some encouragement :( It seems every post I have read EVERYONE has a great Quant score.

Can someone explain to me about GMAT scoring? What is the scaled score? How does the raw score play into it?
