Thanks for the responses,
Some further information on me is that I am a 26 year old male; I am from the United States and attended St. Joseph's University for both my undergrad and MBA. St. Joseph’s University is a medium sized private school which is not ranked as a business school (as far as I know).
I scored a 710 GMAT 49Q
Of the three presentations/articles, two were co-authored with a PhD faculty member who is very established in the accounting community and has published in many top journals recently. This faculty member will be writing one of my LoRs. I am in the process of publishing these articles in a journal, although it will not be a top accounting journal. The other PhD faculty member, whom I worked on the third presentation with, will also be writing one of my LoRs. This professor is not very established/well known in the accounting world. I also worked with both of these professors during my graduate assistant-ship.
I pursued the CMA instead of the CPA (after a lot of consideration) because I have been working in managerial accounting for the past 2 years and the CMA was more helpful for my current career. I could get my CPA if it comes down to that.
I would have to say that I am more interested in behavioral accounting research than archival; although I know that archival research programs are more common (I would be open to either type of school).
My dream school is Duke, but I know that this is probably out of reach for me. I would be content with acceptance at middle-tier schools and was wondering if you could name some schools you think I have a shot at getting accepted into. I know that top-tier schools are out of reach for me. I would really be content with acceptance to almost any middle-tier program.
Any constructive criticism/advice is appreciated
