  1. Does anyone know anything about this program??
  2. Congrats on your admits! I am also a prospective student interested in pursuing PhD in MIS. All four schools you got in have great MIS programs with world-renowned faculty members. Would you mind sharing your stats (e.g. master's? publications? etc)? You can also PM me! I am curious as to what type of students these schools prefer/admit! Thanks in advance!
  3. XanthusARES - really appreciate your reply. This is very helpful. I 100% agree with you on that you can't decide whether you want to be in a PhD program without any research experience. I am fully aware that research is the basis of PhD work thus universities prefer students with some background. I actually did some RAships during my undergraduate, however, it was in an unrelated field and I honestly did not contribute enough to mention it in my resume or SOP. That being said, I am looking for RA opportunities not only to increase my chance of getting into a PhD program but also clearly define my research interest. I came to this forum looking for what others may have done in this case and I have come up with couple options now. Thanks again!
  4. Thanks for the reply! I'm interested in quantitative marketing. If I were to do a masters to get exposure on research, is there any program that you recommend? I realized that a lot of business masters (not MBA) are designed for those who want to advance their career in industry and not necessarily get into a phd program.
  5. Hi - What is the recommendation for someone working in the industry with no research experience who want to get into a phd program? Is it recommended to apply for a masters first and gain research experience? Is it even possible to get into T20 (phd program) with insufficient research experience? How common is it to do a 1-2 years of RA (full-time; non-degree) and apply? How does one find full time RA opportunities? Thanks!
