I have no idea how they evaluate your master degree but based on my experience last year, I had better GRE score and undergrad GPA than yours, I rejected all of those Canadian masters. It may be different if you have Canadian PR, but I totally agree with Zubrus

Hi there I am strongly interested in working as an RA next year and I am trying to apply them. So for positions starting next summer, I just wonder it is normal to apply now? Becuase I have seen many recruitment adverts on NBER websites. Also, there are like, first round, second round, or something. Do professors hire RAs mostly from the first round? Frankly, I have missed some key dates so I am quite frustrated now, of course, they have the second round offer, but how chance is going to be? So, we are in the regular season for the RA applications, or this is a little bit early? Anyone knows the logistics of RA application??

Hi guys, Recently I got admitted from one of master program and I need to choose one elective for the requirement. Basically I can pick either one upper econ grad course (like labor econ, monetary or international) or two math courses (I am thinking of advanced probability theory(measure theory) and stochastic process) Well, yes, if I pick the upper economics course, then my chance to get good recommendation will be higher, whereas if i choose math courses I can boost my future PhD profile by embellishing it with more advanced math courses. I have quite no idea which one will be better for appealing my future adComs. Are those two math courses, measure and stochastic, that important? or are elective econ courses crucial to phD application? It is kind of hard to weigh between them, so it would be great if some of your suggest some idea. By the way I must take PhD level of Micro, Macro and Metrics sequnce toward the master program.
