Is it true that "her or his" is archaic? Well, I used it in my real gmat essay 2 days ago...

I heard that if you go too quickly at the end of the section - you will lose some points (well - your score will be lower, to be more precise) - because the computer "recognizes" you are probably guessing (as you are short on time). I got combinatorics as a 2nd (or 3rd) question - and got stuck (completely) - I ended with making a guess (which turned to be wrong), but managed to get 47 on the quantitative section. Well, it is difficult to advise - try to solve, but if you spend too much time, you risk to be short on time at the end, which is bad (you are in hurry, make silly mistakes and risk not to answer all questions). Thanks all, well, I know what CAT is...just was surprised how 1 point can make such a difference in the overall score - that's it. Oksana, my verbal skills are rather poor (38) - I will try to improve RC - this undermines completely my score. But I agree that for a non-native speaker, this is not an easy task. KrishRads, I would not pretend to estimate your final score - I think the real gmat is very close to the PP (I mean the format) - well, the difficulty should vary (depending on how well you are proceeding). It is also close to Kaplan (but my opinion is that Kaplan 2004 is more difficult, verbal section in particular). You have the same system - you click NEXT and then can change you answer before clicking CONFIRM. Guys, good luck to you! N>

Hi! Well, my score is not outstanding, but I decided to post it anyway. It is amazing - I saw the thread anuja posted, she got just 1 more on the quantitative section (48Q, 38V) and her overall score was 710. 20 points more!!! How this is possible? Actually I do need this score for my master only (I do not apply for an mba), so I hope it will be enough. My experience is that kaplan 2004 is much more difficult: 2 days before my GMAT, I took Kaplan CAT and got 550 and 540 (for the second one). My powerprep 2 was 630 only. This may be helpful for those who think they won't do it (on Sunday evening I was so scared I could not breath). I spent over 3 minutes on the first question, and made a silly mistake on the 2nd quantitative question (I was too nervous), so had I managed better my psyche, the result would be different now. But this is the part of the game... Unfortunately I could not buy [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] (did not find in Moscow), and could donwload the verbal part only. I got Kaplan only 6 days before my GMAT, so was running through... I would like to get among the 700+ scorers, but I am not sure I will have enough courage to take it again, just to see my 700+ score on the paper...
