  1. ..the materials supplied by the test center. They're fairlly strict on using any materials other than what they provide. I've taken the test once and I did the same thing you describe.
  2. No way, but you can write anything you want using the material provided by the testing center.
  3. I have been struggling for two years. I've already taken the GMAT once for a 640 (ok verbal terrible quant). I struggle with my weaknesses which are lack of focus, energy and time. I will not give up on my target of 720. Only you can defeat you. The only defeat is to quit trying. Never quit!
  4. What is the value of: 2^x + 2^y 2^y (1) x – y = 8 (2) x/y = -3
  5. forget it...got it....
  6. kaily - A few more thoughts to help you put this in perspective. Only 1 in 50 people (random US pop. sample) , without prep, will score 720 on GMAT or score 171 on LSAT. The rest of us poor unwashed masses have to bust our asses to reach these scores. You have no chance of an easy 170 LSAT. You might as well just study smarter/harder. That's the only realistic conclusion you should draw from your 580. I know. I got a crappy 640: good verbal, lousy quant. You must have both to get a really good score on these types of tests. Good luck.
  7. OG or on the GMATprep software>> Use both. Princeton Review has a few good strategies for folks who who don't have grand GMAT aspirations. 500 is 39% so I think you can reach your target score without much trouble. I think that if you have time to thumb through any GMAT prep book, you should be able to get the additional 70 points with just a few hours study.
  8. The LSAT is a tougher test than the GMAT. LSAT requires greater verbal and logic ability than the GMAT. I hope you're not setting yourself up for a bigger letdown.
  9. > Congratulations on a great score! Please give an example of what you mean by the unfamiliar quant format?
  10. OG10 & OG11 are actual GMAT questions which have been retired. The GMAT quant is a test of ninth grade math. Something every fourteen year old child should know. Problem is that it has been a few years since most of us were fourteen!
  11. Fantastic improvement. Congratulations. Would you say that the quant you saw is the same as OG level? How many number properties questions did you see? I'm unconcerned about verbal, but I'm targeting 47/48 in quant so your feed back would be helpful. Thanks.
  12. Well..ok, but $250.00 is high times here in Alabama....a weekend of beer and wings at Hooters. Good luck on the test.
  13. r1234 - It was 800bob sitting in your seat. You should have let him finish the test! Seriously..that was a tough break for you. Good luck getting your money back and psyching yourself up mentally for the next try. Also, I would hold the test center responsible. Speak to the manager and insist that they right this wrong by reimbursing you or that they arrange with GMAT for the next test free. They will most likely give you a line of bullshit about how there is nothing that they can do. Be persistent and then politely threaten to sue the individual your speaking with. Remember to threaten to sue him personally. He won't give a shit if you sue the company. If you are convincing, he will take care of you asap.
  14. suithink - Thank you very much.
