  1. CONGRATULATIONS[clap] gallishow, And please don't worry about it. YOU GOT a 770...I highly doubt you are in ANY danger of getting a score change (Let me know if you do, so I can publicly eat my words:whistle:). The only danger anyone may have is in a change in score for the AWA portion, for example the computer grades a 5.5 but when the human scorers read it you could go down to a 5.0 or some other number. Anyhow this doesn't happen too often either. [dance]
  2. I've also always thought that, so thanks for the re-enforcement[dance]
  3. Oh my god - what an Amazing Analysis[clap]. I really do appreciate you taking your time to help us, alakshma[dance]
  4. Hey artist-ink (I like your name) I don't know if you are aware but for the schools you have mentioned, you're GMAT scores are way above their averages for GMAT. FOCUS on your essays and recommendations, make them killer!! I don't have any doubt in my mind, that you should get into at least one of your top choices if you can craft a solid application that shines light on you - regardless of your experience.[dance]
  5. CONGRATULATIONS[clap], You must be excited because for the schools you are looking at, you definately succeeded[dance]
  6. I can't not advise you on whether or not you should take them again:hmm: However, a CONGRATULATIONS[clap] is in order, because anything in the 700's, seems to me would be competitive[dance]
  7. THANK YOU! ASV[clap], for taking your time to post good details of your experience[dance]
  8. CONGRATULATIONS alapalaya[clap] You should most certainly be SUPER HAPPY. Thanks for posting your experience, very helpful.
  9. What an amazing post spkapileshwar[clap], Thank you for your time spent on it and most importantly CONGRATULATIONS[dance]
  10. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SCORE ASV:) You must be very excited* Your question is a hard one for anyone to answer, for two reasons: 1. There are so many good programs out there! 2. Depending on what you would like to concentrate in, some programs are better than others for that specific concentration. My advice is that you will need to do your own research (I am assuming you are talking about US mba programs)...A couple of good places to start: 1. Local library (ask the librarian to help you identify books that discuss mba programs) 2. Buy a copy of the usnews graduate index (or look for it in your library) http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/rankindex_brief.php Businessweek http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/ I think they have a book you can buy or find in your library. Also, you might want to type in "MBA blogs" at google. Many of the blogs are from students currently in mba programs - they often give good insight into what the program is like at their current school. Happy mba applying. PS: If you are talking only about a executive mba program - the sources above will still be helpful as well as the two businessweek links below: http://bwnt.businessweek.com/embasearch/ http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/01/emba_rank.htm
  11. CONGRATULATIONS RNAMAN[clap], Thanks for taking your time to share your experience with us. I always get something useful about the GMAT from all of you who have slayed it[dance] thumbs up:tup:
  12. Great post Aline, I am always wondering about what people are seeing as far as the quant on the GMAT...thanks for sharing* Please let us know if you get into your first choice school, It's always good to hear what happens after the score!!
  13. Congratulations:tup: I really do appreciate you taking the time to post your experience:). Very helpful...THANK YOU.
  14. Congratulations*** I second the fact, that your post is inspiring.[dance] Jinoov what was the quant part of the test like? Was it harder than kaplan?
  15. Thanks for the info 4gmat[dance]* But remember - ETS is not interested in seeing you go anywhere to learn anything that is going to help you "beat" their test. Of course they are going to discourage you from doing your best to prepare. ETS is not your friend, they NEED to feed their corporate, MONOPOLY greed. And they can prove the worth of those tests as long as there are many people out there flunking them! However, I do agree that you do not necessarily need any course to study for the GMAT. It can be done by self study. The question becomes - how quickly on your own can you reach a 700> by using your own self taught techniques. I know for myself - a person who SWORE they would not shell out the money for ONE OF THOSE courses - I'm so happy I took a course, that I don't even know what to do!!!!!!:tup: (my testing scores improved dramtically after working through the course) No one can argue, IF you can find a good course that you like, the course will be much better organized and better prepared to help you cover all the bases of study than you can do on your own. Please take it from me, I was the last person who wanted to pay for such courses. A GOOD COURSE IS MONEY WELL SPENT. Don't let ETS fool you on the GMAT and certainly don't let them fool you in Life. PEACE
  16. Smart thing to do Mattt! I studied on my own before I took a prep class and it's the best way to go! Studying beforehand helps you tune in more to the weaknesses you need the class to address and it will help you focus a bit more on those weaknesses during class time. Also, if you can study without it don't buy the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] or the AWA guide because copies of these come in your manhattan package. I bought these two books before I took the class and now I am stuck with two copies of each:rolleyes:.
  17. Thanks, Mattt! Please let us know what course you decide to choose and later if you could post some feedback on your experience with the course that would be awesome....[dance]
  18. Hello There Matt, This is my opinion: I took the online princeton course (not the one with the teacher - just the self taught online couse) and I have also taken the online manhanttan gmat course with the teacher (I finished this course jan 9, 2005). The manhattan gmat online course was worth every PENNY! I swear by this course. How I found the manhattan gmat was by reading MBA blogs written by students in top mba schools presently -they swore by their experiences, so I thought - why not? The office hours that come with the course are great! Make sure to utilize each and everyone of them. As compared with the princeton course there is no comparison, Manhattan gmat is Waaaaaaaaay ahead. The value that you get for your money is truely there. Princeton - I don't know what they are doing! Hope this helps...Anymore questions?
  19. Congratulations Dmj - Whoa Duke, Awesome:)
  20. Thanks for your responses Gmat168 and GMATGnat, the link below is what I was looking for!![dance]
  21. Hello There :), I realized that this question was a little much to ask the forum because EVERYONE would like to know the answer to this question. However, I did decide that by reviewing the GMAT scores and background experiences of MBA bloggers who have been accepted into top MBA programs, I could get a general sketch of the scores being taken and the experience that goes along with that score. I did find a link to an MBA blogger who was accepted to wharton that provided a link to someone who has set up a website where people applying can post their acceptances/rejections and GMAT scores etc. I do not know how useful they may be to anyone (or how updated the info is), but I will be posting my info at this site once I am done with the application process, so that I may pitch into the efforts made by the webmaster: http://www.chudnovsky.org/mba/index.html
  22. Hello There[dance] Could someone please tell me what score ranges are needed for top ten school? (university of chicago, duke, columbia, harvard, yale, berkeley etc.) Is the min for most of the students attending these schools 690? So that even if you score a 700 you have knocked it out of the ball park? Is a 720 as competitive as say a 760? Should I really feel as though I have a real chance at a top ten if I walk out of a testing center with a 710? This is what I think right now: 690 -710 - you have a chance, average score for these schools, might not necessarily get in anywhere. 720-730 - May get in to two out of six schools. 740-760 - you have a much better than average chance of getting in 770> obiviously will get most schools you've applied to. Can anyone clarify for me how a 690 - 730 score will stack up against higher ones? Is a 720 really something to be doing back flips over?? Not really sure...
  23. AWESOME WORK:tup: - knocking it out of the ball park like that[dance]. I see we are on a roll here on this forum - Second 730 posted today:grad:. My opinon: When you get a chance you should do more than just buy yourself a celebratory pizza!! Try something in the electronics area:p. YOU DESERVE IT. If you get a chance please post some more details on your test and prep experience (if you could include some detail on how the quant problems compared to your practice quants in level of difficulty, that would be tremendous[clap])
