  8. I just checked my mail box and I found a very sweet email sent by one member of this forum. I've been having some problems with the site I still moderate and I haven't been visiting this site very often. I hope to solve the problems as soon as possible to return. Thank you Erin for working hard to make this place soooo great!!![clap] [clap] [clap]
  9. Wow, Dingus hasn't returned!:( Sometimes, computer problems can take a looooooooooooong time to be corrected. :D Anyway, I'm optimist that Dingus will come back soon.
  10. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm careful with the jokes I make..just innocent jokes to break the ice.:D Never. I love your posts.
  11. Is it easy or terrifying for you? How do you cope with nerves when you are speaking? I've given so many speeches in my life and I've had butterflies in my stomach so many times. http://69.93.183.37/html/emoticons/dry.gif I feel a bit nervous depending on the kind of audience. I mean, if I have to give a speech to my supervisors or a large crowd, I'll feel a little insecure . Other than those, it's Ok. http://69.93.183.37/html/emoticons/wink.gif I always try to be dynamic, funny and start my presentation strongly with my main point. The most important moment in a presentation is the beginning. If you start badly, the audience may go to sleep or even leave.
  12. Thank you, Sanjana. ;) I'm glad we heard from Dingus.
  13. I miss Dingus too. Very nice person!!!! (S)He used to help me a lot. :(
  14. According to this interesting article on body language, liars tend to keep their hands hidden and still. They say nonverbal communication is the way the subconscious mind speaks. So, people can lose credibility by their body language.
  15. I HATE it when people are impolite. Yesterday, a friend of mine told me a woman wanted to fight with her at the gym. The woman told her she (the woman) had been waiting for a long time to use one of those bodybuilder machines. The girl said the woman wasn’t near the machine and she (the girl) started to work out. The woman kept on yelling at her and insulting her for hours. Wow, I’m shocked. I thanked her for telling me what had happened because I’ll avoid talking to that woman from now on.
  16. You mean the one I already answered? Nah, it'd be OFF topic, awhig. Back to topic, if we pay attention to our body language, we’ll see that we can adopt positive body language techniques or recognize and avoid the negative ones.
  17. My questions reflect what I’ve read or I’ve seen. I’m not doing any research on people’s attitudes here. I just thought the questions were interesting to be discussed. Although I’m always very nervous when I’m interviewed, I try to make them believe I’m calm. :D I avoid looking at my watch every five minutes and looking down when I’m speaking
  18. "Your words tell me a story but your body tells me the WHOLE story." Everyone uses body language during the interview whether they realize it or not. However, very few think about in advance and modify their body language to produce the most positive effect. Have you payed attention to your body language during an interview? Is there anything you avoid doing?
  19. Wow, interesting notes!!! Thanks. I've read somewhere if one person stays overnight, it breaks their neurons. Is it true?:hmm: By the way, my memory is not bad. One thing I hate is that sometimes I forget about the words either in English or in Portuguese. I don't give up till I remember what I wanna say.:yuck:
  20. Which questions? Just kidding.:D I've taken two courses on me memorization and learned some tips. Hhmmm..did I miss anything?
  21. Is your memory good or bad? Do you memorize things easily? Do you use any techniques? Have you ever taken any courses on memorization? By the way, do you remember my FIRST question without cheating?:D
  22. Thank you, Scheng75. I think Chinese people are very calm. I wonder what would happen to the elevator if a Brazilian were in his place .
  23. my favorite one is :D but I also love  because it's very funny
  24. 3 days??? I'm shocked!!! I'll search for this piece of news.
