  1. Wow! As you may know, I am an international student, and finding a college/university, in the United States, that I could be comfortable in, was quite a difficult task. And as you can imagine, being hundreds of miles away did not help at all!!! But after 5 months of intense research and all the good advice and ideas I got on this forum, I finally found the college that was RIGHT FOR ME! PEOPLE, I am happy and excited and overwhelmed to say that I was accepted to DICKINSON COLLEGE of Pennsylvania. I am officially a Dickinsonian 2010! I CAN’T wait to start in August! DICKINSON HERE I COME!
  2. Its been a while since I logged on. But this is FANTASTIC news! CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have been so busy these days... Ahhh well... How have you been? Good I hope! :) South Carolina huh? I looked up Clemson U. It looks beautiful! Hope you have a fantastic time!

    Nov 5 SAT

Anyone taking the November 5 SAT? If so... Good luck! I am, so wish me luck too!
  5. Tell me where the first atom came from and I will tell you that there is NO God. This is the truth... GOD IS... This is the truth... We humans cannot fathom God simply because we are not yet capable of such a great feat. When we have evolved to a much higher consciousness, such as one where we have left the prison of the physical self, then we may begin to understand God. Now I will tell you what I think... The whole business of going to heaven if you are good and to hell if you are bad... that I am not sure about... Seems to be a little childish... But this I know to be true... IF YOU SEEK GOD, YOU WILL FIND GOD! As for now... Feel free to try to understand that which is God. I wish you luck! Because you CAN'T! 1. If there is a God, how can you prove it You cannot! An entity that is capable of creation cannot be measured by such crude methods as we humans have. 2. God is principally invisible intangible and doesn't follow physical or scientific rationale You have just proved the point I gave you before. 3. How did God leave the extant religions fraught with all this malarky (Six days creation, Adam, Eve, No evolution, Life is few thousand years old, no ancestors or pre-human life, etc The 6 days are just a PARABLE. All it does is offer an explanation that people hundreds of years ago could understand. You have to remember that the Bible is a very old book and was put through quite a lot of rewrites at the whim of many biased rulers. (You didn't know that did you?) 4. Why the hell there are all these religions vying for neophytes and demonizing each others (very good question Coolpaggy asked) If one of them is true, then why God is waiting. Is he just gloating us ridiculing religions. At no time did God create religion! Religion is simply something that humans made up. This is why one religion fights the other. You can plainly see that it is the way of man- to destroy each other. See... Religion if from man, not God. All GOD asked of people is to love each other and their fellow creatures and the world they live on. 5. What is the reason of creation then, did God wanted to enjoy his time making the universe and putting his creatures in test. Is he making fun of us or what. And put more salt to the wound, you are supposed to extol and coddle the baby lest he should inundate you with his wrath. Seek God and you shall find God. He gave us free will and now is allowing us to use it. Do something with the gift God has given. Spend more time on employing you time and less on wondering why we have this time. God lives within all of us because he created us and so some of his essence was breathed into us. 6. Consider the concept of heaven and hell. Those who believed in him will be salved and others, including me, will enjoy a lake of fire. I did not hurt anybody to get this dreadful destiny and if someone above wants me to believe he should speak the same logic I understand. Again free will. Do as you like ! But I believe that once you lead a virtuous life, you have a chance at Heaven if there is one. Better to be safe than sorry. Consider this, God has nothing to gain form you believing in him or not! Do as you like and I will do the same. 7. Where will animals go. Theistic religions say they will turn into dust. No heaven or paradise. Why? because they are animals. LOL. Those who invented religions did not know what animals have the physiological tracts to feel pain, hunger, and suffer pretty well when we kill them to feed on their tissues. This is just bull****. Let's be honest, this life let the fittest live. And to live flatly entiled feeding on the weaker creatures. Again RELIGION! God cannot be found in religion! Man made it up! BESIDES... HUMNAS ARE ANIMALS TOO! LOL! So there must be a heaven for animals if there is one for us. Think about the Tibetan monks. Then don't kill anything! Religions and Gods, as can be inferred, were a trial to extricate humankind from all the sensual and materialistic desires that is pretty much an ingrained constituent of human nature. Human development evolved to enact laws that prevent the stronger feeding on the weaker. Religions, as they stand now, are a pretext to flout these laws. Well if you want you spouse to cheat on you... You will sit back and let him or her do it right? Religion has it uses! I do not want to hurt anyone, even if he or she is a star footballer or a celebrated pianist or a crippled person or a one armed man. Religion as it stands believes in love and fairness. Nothing is wrong with religion except when one thinks it is superior to the other. Or shall we say, when the followers of the religion think that they are better than followers of another.
  6. I want to extend http://scd.mm-b1.yimg.com/image/455292064 to all those who wrote the October SAT. It may have been tough on some of you, but I hope that you all get at least your target score. And DON'T WORRY! Things will be fine, and if not, you can always repeat. I will be writing the November SAT so you will hear me lamenting soon! http://photobucket.com/albums/y101/alexselene/th_LadyMoon.gif
  7. They are called Oxymorons. But then again, you got these at www.oxymoronlist.com Didn't you?
  8. Seems as if Parag has a crush on me. Doesn't it? :p Well, Parag, don't feel  .
  9. Hey, I just received an email from one of the Colleges that I am applying, and the Admissions officer touched on my age. Do you think that my age of 22 (I graduated form High School 3 years ago) is a bad thing? Do you all think that it will decrease my chances of admission as a College Freshman? Looking forward to your comments.
  10. What do you all think of Middlebury College?:hmm: Any info will be appreciated! ;) THANKS! :)
  11. Hmmm... The author is good. T Birds is a solid well written story, that is quite believable because similar events have happened in real life. But I thought that bits of the story was quite tasteless. I know I am being biased because I am catholic and love my priests to keep their vows to God.
