  1. Prompt: Men and women, because of their inherent physical differences, are not equally suited for many tasks. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position. Essay: Men and women are equally competent for many tasks. A person's ability to do physical tasks depends on the person's physical strength. A person's intellect to perform tasks depends on their mental ability. The eligibility for most of the tasks is not whether a person is a man or woman. Firstly, physical strength is not the requirement in all jobs. For instance, consider the case of a CEO of a company like Google. Anyone who can contibute to the success of the company can become the CEO of Google. It is not the case that only men are mostly suited for this post as they are physically strong compared to women. A person's mental ability is more important than physical strength to become CEO of Google. So, in the tasks which involve using of person's intellect, men and women are equally capable. Secondly, there are many tasks in this world which require more physical strength than mental ability. Men and women are equally suited for those tasks despite their inherent physical differences. They are equally suited because it all depends on their stamina to do it. There is no evidence that most of the men in this world are more physically fit compared to women. A person's physical strength helps in deciding if he/she is capable to do the physical tasks. However, there are few tasks for which men and women are not equally capable. For instance, only women can give birth to children. In the jobs which involve carrying heavy loads, men are more suited than women because of their inherent physical differences. But if women can train themselves better for doing those jobs, then women can be equally capable as men for doing those tasks. A person is not selected to do a task depending on whether he or she is a man or woman. Their selection to any job is mostly based on their capabilities and experience. In today's world, men and women are equally competing in most of the fields.
  2. Men and women, because of different inherent physical differences, are not equally suited for many tasks. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your positions. Men and women are different in inherent physical structures and also exhibit various different characteristics. The heart of a woman beats faster than a man, while fat percentage in women is higher than the men, men has more muscle mass than the men. The prompt recommends that men and women because of their different inherent features are not equally suited for many tasks. In my opinion, I disagree with this suggestion and argue that while there may be various different characteristics among them, they are capable of equally doing all the task for the following reasons. To begin, women nowadays are proving to be equally strong in terms of body strength required to perform various laborious tasks. For instance, women have started competing in various weightlifting championship against men and have also emerged as winner. Agricultural work, which totally consist of manual labour working in the scorching heat consist of people of both the sex, male and female working together. This example illustrates that women are equally capable of performing tasks which require extreme power equivalent to men. Further, it is considered that women are kinder and more sympathetic in nature and are better care takers of babies and more suitable as a home maker while men are bolder and more capable of working in the offices, taking big decisions. Statistics today show that a large number of women today are working at a high position at several multi-national companies, while many men have turned into home maker, taking care of the home and even taking complete care of the babies if any. This tells us that women and men can work out the respective tasks in which they are interested. Although there exists several differences in the body structures of men and women and they also have different temperament, and some may argue that they are not equally suited for various tasks, I believe the strength to do a certain task lies in the inner mind and if one likes to perform a certain task he or she is equally suited for the same and discrimination regarding men and women in terms of tasks they can perform should come to an end.
  3. Men and women, because of their inherent physical differences, are not equally suited for many tasks The issue states that due to physical differences in men and women, they are not equally suitable for many jobs. Although, not always the case, men may be good at dealing with heavy outdoor jobs like woodcutting while women may be good indoor jobs like cooking. Differences in physical structure do make both genders inappropriate for certain jobs. Thus, it is certain to have a gender bias in various fields of tasks. Some jobs do not explicitly distinguish between men and women but during the hiring process there is an inclination towards one gender. One example of such a job is that of a person sitting on the reception or the counter. The company prefers to give out such a job to females due to women naturally possessing friendly and polite nature. While on the other hand, jobs like construction and heavy metalwork, usually prefer to hire male workers. Here, gender-based discrimination does help benefit the company as well as the employees. Consider, if a woman is made to work at woodcutting, the efficiency will reduce and thus lead to overall loss or if a man is made to work as a baby care-taker, people might not hire him. Although, such a partiality mostly is not explicitly stated it is needed for the society. People may argue that considering men and women separately for jobs may create hiring based decisions favoring one gender. This is no more true in today's world as companies need to maintain a proportional number of male and female works as per government law. Even professions like civil engineers who have a high supply of male workers can have an equal number of male and female employees as per the law. However, when considering men and women to be suitable for different roles, it should not be taken to extremes. Gender should not play a role in career options that are suitable for both genders like politics, education, and other noble professions. Women should not be expelled from the teaching profession or should not be neglected when the task of ruling is considered. Although this does not take place in many countries in the modern era, it still holds in a few undeveloped countries. Men and women when considered different in jobs cause a sense of hatred in society but this issue needs to be looked at positively. Both genders should be proud of the role they play in society instead of distinguishing between one another. Men and women both need to acknowledge and value each other limits as one gender can not exist without another.
  4. Please review and score my first AWA essay so that I may know what my essay lacks in. My test is in 4 days. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Men and women, because of their inherent physicaldifferences, cannot perform equitable tasks. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position. The extent to which men and women cannot equally perform mundane to specialized tasks is a complex issue involving a tug of war between them. On balance, however, I tend to agree that all humans regardless of their gender are capable of performing work of equal caliber, despite the physical difference. One compelling argument against such difference or domination (men and women cannot perform similar duties) is that in contemporary world, men are preceded by women and vice versa in every field be it the engineering field, or law; medicine or aeronautics; modern art or archaic art; innovation or technology. In fact, men reached space first and following them females stepped on moon and Mars. To further support this notion, in Pakistan and still in most Asian countries, only males are allowed and eligible to be fighter pilots in Air Force, however, a female fighter pilot Ayesha Farooq broke the stereotypes and is one of the first Asian female jet fighter thus proving that women are capable of performing similar tasks whether they be mundane or dangerous and can follow the footsteps of men in any profession. A second compelling argument against such domination is that females are making equally significant contributions as their male counterparts in various fields. For instance, a woman came up with an idea of supercomputers in 1980s and invented one of them. Steve Jobs was so influenced and inspired by this lady that he followed her idea, took it to next level and founded his company - Apple. Thus, both of their efforts resulted in latest advancement in computer technologies. Another compelling argument against such domination is that media is playing a crucial role in dissemination of an important message - Women are equally strong as men and are valiant enough to face the challenges of the world. For instance, modern day American series such as The Flash, Arrows, Superwoman convey the same message that men and women are equally strong to make significance in the word, despite their physical difference. Similarly, not just in US, media is disseminating this very same message to worldwide. Korean TV Series Weight Lifting Fairy and Strong Woman Do Bong So are examples of such an argument. In these series, the lead actor/actress are shown the strong and depicting some superpowers and using them to fight evil in the society. Korean TV Series Weight Lifting Fairy revolves around a story of Weight Lifter Kim Book Jo. This series supports the female weightlifters in Olympics and other sports competitions. Those who disagree with my perspective might argue that by nature, men and women are physically different. Men cannot give birth and likely, both genders have different roles to play in society. Moreover, in past women were confined to homes and were required to do house-keeping while men did labor. This home confinement culture is still prevalent in some parts of the world such as Pakistan. However, most of the people are waking up to this call and sending their daughters to school. Another example is of 19th century, American author Louisa May Alcott. Her famous novel “Little Women” –jumbled with a conflict between family responsibilities and personal ambitions, life and death - is said to be based on her own early life. Despite her open-minded father, she supported herself and her sisters with woman’s work such as sewing, doing laundry, and acting as a domestic servant. Soon, she discovered she could make more money writing and later on, became one of the famous classical American writer. However, this argument ignores the fact that in modern day, half of women force are active in a field of science and technology – standing shoulders to shoulders with men and together fighting against the odds, according to research (on Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls). This argument also overlooks that a nation cannot progress until its women are not empowered and stood with shoulder to shoulder with their men. Admittedly, there are many examples in history depicting that women can achieve everything a man can- such as, a politician Benazir Bhutto was the first female to become a Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan, Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousfazai is a role model and inspiration for all those girls who are afraid to raise voice and demand their rights, and a film maker and female activist Sharmeen Obaid is the only and first woman to bring home the Oscars for her imminent work in film making. In conclusion, I acknowledge that females are, still, epitome of domestic servants in some parts of the world while males are the sole bread earners in family in some culture. Nevertheless, despite the inherent physical differences in men and women, both perform many tantamount duties and tasks, and do chores of similar nature thus, making history today in vast variety of fields- to name few – aeronautics, medicines, engineering, arts and designing, social sciences, bio informatics, etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
