  1. Men and women, because of their inherent physical differences, are not equally suited for many tasks The issue states that due to physical differences in men and women, they are not equally suitable for many jobs. Although, not always the case, men may be good at dealing with heavy outdoor jobs like woodcutting while women may be good indoor jobs like cooking. Differences in physical structure do make both genders inappropriate for certain jobs. Thus, it is certain to have a gender bias in various fields of tasks. Some jobs do not explicitly distinguish between men and women but during the hiring process there is an inclination towards one gender. One example of such a job is that of a person sitting on the reception or the counter. The company prefers to give out such a job to females due to women naturally possessing friendly and polite nature. While on the other hand, jobs like construction and heavy metalwork, usually prefer to hire male workers. Here, gender-based discrimination does help benefit the company as well as the employees. Consider, if a woman is made to work at woodcutting, the efficiency will reduce and thus lead to overall loss or if a man is made to work as a baby care-taker, people might not hire him. Although, such a partiality mostly is not explicitly stated it is needed for the society. People may argue that considering men and women separately for jobs may create hiring based decisions favoring one gender. This is no more true in today's world as companies need to maintain a proportional number of male and female works as per government law. Even professions like civil engineers who have a high supply of male workers can have an equal number of male and female employees as per the law. However, when considering men and women to be suitable for different roles, it should not be taken to extremes. Gender should not play a role in career options that are suitable for both genders like politics, education, and other noble professions. Women should not be expelled from the teaching profession or should not be neglected when the task of ruling is considered. Although this does not take place in many countries in the modern era, it still holds in a few undeveloped countries. Men and women when considered different in jobs cause a sense of hatred in society but this issue needs to be looked at positively. Both genders should be proud of the role they play in society instead of distinguishing between one another. Men and women both need to acknowledge and value each other limits as one gender can not exist without another.
  2. People should question the rules of authority as opposed to accepting them passively. The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has caused many countries accross the world to declare lockdowns across major cities. People have lost jobs and their freedom to roam around in the open due to strict rules. Citizen have started critizing government for declaring lockdowns and closures. Many people and media have questioned and judged the decisions taken bby authorities. Do these people realize what could happen if restrictions and lockdowns are removed? The number of coronavirus cases will surge like never before and this can have worse effects than a world war. People do not understand that these decisions are taken by the government only for the wellbeing of the citizen. If people start questioning these rules, which may seem to be unfair towards them, will they government even be able to function well? The government will lose the motivation and support needed by the people if they are constantly being questioned for their decisions. Not just during the pendamic, people need to understand that the governments first priority are the fellow citizen in the country. A rules passed by the government may cause a lot of people without indepth analyses to question to the decision. There will be a rise of the opposing parties to hamper the rules that were passed. People will start committing seditions and there will be undeniable turst issues with towards government. Other political parties and media may indeed take an undue advantage of this situation. All this can be avoided if we fellow citizens stop questioning the authorities and understand that no government is perfect and these decisions are taken solely for our advantage. On the other hand, if authorities operate autonomously with no one questioning them can lead to unwarranted power in the hand of the authorities. There needs to be a check and audit committee in place who represent the people. There are many cases where authorities have misused their powers and passed rules for their benefit. Such an act needs questioning and strict action needs to be taken. However, the questioning need not come directly from the people but from a seperate committe in place to avoid confusion and caos. Nothing in this world is perfect or fair. The rules passes by the authority may not be valid or fair for few residents. This does create a bias system and hate towards the system may develop. However, people questioning such a rule may lead to far worse consiquences like riots, petitions, etc. People should trust the government and authorities in the rules that are developed as these authorities are elected by the people and for the people.
  3. Government funding for purely scientific endeavors, such as space exploration, should be reduced in order to direct more funding toward humanitarian science projects. In the modern era, tons of funds are allocated for research and growth in science and technology. Its only due to the scientific development that we are able to communicate wireless accross the globe, see images of black holes and many other uncountable inventions. These might not have been possible if government had not fulfilled the monetory requirements. The issue claims that authoritites should decrease the funding provided in scientific endeavors and should direct these funds towards science projects devoted towards humanitarian needs. Indeed, doing so would lead to more money towards science projects that serve the society. This may seem right for particular nations where finance is a major issue but for nations with plenty of funds, this claim turns to be obstructing the nation's growth. Funds in purely scientific endeavors like space exploration should not be stopped. In today's world, the power of a nation is indirectly displayed by the quality and quantity of space missions completed successfully. Countries show their superiority by sending satellites to orbits of mars and other parts of solar system. A fear is brought in the minds of rival nation by such space explorations. If such space projects are to be cancel due to lack of funds, there is an harm to human safety. Fear amongst rival nations would be reduced and can at worst lead to wars. Investors are always on a look for the new tech in the market. There is a crazy flow of money where technology promises future. This is one of the reasons why countries that research on purely scientifc projects have a strong economy. For example, USA has tons of funding available for almost all the scientific fields. This has lead to many foreign companies to invest in the USA and many people to migrate here to persue their dreams in research. Due to this, the economy has become firm and the country is benefiting as a whole. Had government not put in enough funds towards purely scientific endeavors, would the country be as great as it is now? It is clear that these scientific developments and space endeavors require huge funds. This a major reason why poor nations do not have significant space projects. It is not wise to put in money in building space crafts when a countries can not feed its citizens. Poor countries thus need to focus on science project which help their citizen directly. In essence, I disagree with the statement that funds should be diverted towards humanitarian science projects from the purely scientific project as long as the country has enough funding for both. The priority for money allocation should be clear to the government. The money should first go to project fulfilling human needs and then towards purely scientific research.
