  1. The answer is A. --ing forms a continuous forms and the land is still present and extending -- can not be extended at once and then stopped at some point froma to B-- that is wrong.
  2. a number of decisions --- plural so involve and hence D
  3. Agree with man But 1- more ... than is correct comparison and hence A and B 2- parallelism...
  4. Yes D is correct. Looks C is correct but economical determinants of... is incorrect-- instead economic determinants of ..
  5. I believe the rule is correct. Unfortunately begun to is incorrect idiom. A is better than the rest. Look at the meaningh. You can not begun (in past) .. to demand (in present--infinitive). Whereas the mood is not infinitive at all. I hope that is the way it is.
  6. Vote for D Parallelism warriors created ....to protect and .. artisan took ....to complete. Further it is singular and referring to what --pyramids or ... same with them refering to the life or pyramids. Left with C & D C and took looks little odd
  7. Congratulations for such a good score
  8. Congratulations... Best of Luck for the application
  9. Heartly Congratulations . It is a great score indeed.
  10. as much to full-time employees----- as should come after the "," value is singular === is D and E in D as is paid is not correct E
  11. D it is.. it -- pronoun -- refers to what Chinese or description or blood ??
  12. The answer has to be A. Had indicate a thing happened before something else -- this is clearly marked by until.. so had is correct ACE E uses whether and there are no conditions or two outcomes i.e yes or no -- eliminate C for the execting of -- execution of may have been appropriate So A
  13. C for me too. its pronoun is possessive pronoun and clearly reflect back to Prakta. Whereas in E it is and its is redundant . We can not use two types of pronoun to refer back to on. it is subject pronoun.
  14. D it should be. St1: Tells us that 5 notepad cost less than 5 dollar in any case if 1cent to 99 cent will never cover the cost of 1 marker and is sufficient St2: tells us that the notepad cost appx 80 cents and approx 2 dollar to marker and the answer here is also no we can noty buy 4 and 4.. suff
  15. Here is one of them from this forum: Q3: What is the median of the 15 consecutive integers? 1) The median of the first 7 numbers is 15 2) The median of the latter 7 numbers is 17 http://www.www.urch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27039&highlight=telephone+exchange The answer is D and both yield different results...
  16. Question 1: Answer is B: if on number line w is first and y is farther then if w is + so is y to yield >0 and if one is -ve then is y and since x is just before y so it has to follow the sign of y and hence suf.. Question 2: Great work by Karmaholic-- Thank you very much for the approach...
  17. Hello Silvergator, What I mean by x is nefative is that we need to equate left and right side. |x| is an absolute value and x can be -ve or +ve but the value of |x| will be +ve on the right side -x tells me that the x inside the |x| is negative or in other terms -(-x) = +ve and that is the only way to get equal with |x| i.e |x|= -x Thanks preity for question 2 explanation. It make sense. I am not sure as why I tried to solve the two roots of the same equation. DUMB....
  18. add second statement and the question stem..
  19. 1- answer is C st1: x-y=1/2 and x and y can be bot negative both positive and one -ve obe +ve try 1/4 and 1/2 st2: -ve and +ve together tells us that they can not be the same value and hence Suff.. 2- D solve eq as 3r+2-s=0 and 4r+9-s= 0 and r and s will tell you where they are and similarly in st2.. 3- A is the answer st1 says m is greater than 3times z and m+x will be +ve and m-3z is +ve . Statemet 2 says 4 times z is greater than m . m may be negative and it is both yes or no 4- B it is asking whether m is negative and statement 2 says so simplify == x-3=3-x only possible is x is negative.
  20. Statement 1: says m can be 11,22,33,44 etc etc -- Insuff Statement 2: 2m=11+11x === Insuff or other values as welll and m+n could be 0,11,22,.... together : if m has same digits then == 2m= 11+11x and -2n=11x-11 2*11 = 11(1+x) and leads to x=1 and then n= 0 and m+n =11 and if m=22 then then 2*22 = 11(1+x) and leads x= 3 and -2n=22 and n=-11 and it does not satisfy the m+n=11 statement of 2 We can go through all possible multiples and they are not be sufficient.. Like m+n =0 and together with question it will result in 2m=11x and hence m=11 again and x=1 like m+n =22 and then 2m=11x+22 and it will not satisfy the condition from sattement 1.... Hence C and value of x=1
  21. Statement 1: 2^x * 3^y = 72 == 2^x * 3^y = 2^3 * 3^2 x=3 and y=2 Statement 2: 2^x * 2^y = 32 2^x+y = 2^5 =x+y=5=== can not solve but it could be that the statement 2 is : 2^x * 3^y = 32 and that is sufficient as y=0 and x=5 then it will be D otherwise it will be A
  22. Silvergator is Correct. Positive goes from III to I upwards and negative slope goes from II to IV downwards. -Y will be there in III quardant going up
