  1. "it" is ok fine here because it is also in the first sentence and makes them therefore parallel.
  2. smallest common multiple of two numbers is the smallest number that divides both of them. thus 251 & 251 has smallest common multiple 251
  3. must go with D, if D is not assumed, the investigators job is just to find someone to blame (which they did)
  4. you need to consider only positive integers to get range from here answer is b
  5. line l, y=ax+b in 1) y intercept: x=0 & y=b, a=3b, don't know a, thus cannot answer the question, insufficient in 2) x-intercept: y=0 & x=-b/a=-1/3 b=1 answer b
  6. I think the answer is B in statement one we can find number that is an integer when multiplied by 16: 0.125 (which doesn't have the tenths digit zero) but if we take 0.0625 (does) so 1 is insufficient in statement 2: smallest possible nubmer that gives an integer when multiplied by 8 is 0.125, which has the tenths digit nonzero thus sufficient answer is B
  7. it would say that she purchased childrens tickets only. since we don't know from the current formulation of the problem whether she also bought some adult tickets, we cannot answer the question and the statement is not sufficient
  8. its pretty simple actually in statement 1: we know that 10d has the tenth digit 7, thus d must look something like this: 0.07 (or some other numbers instead of 0) and the hundredths Digit is 7 - sufficient in statement 2: similar case, the hundredths Digit is 7 answer d
  9. nenuphani, both solutions are lenght, but only the solutions with all 2 is greatest possible
  10. there is nothing said in the question that would confirm the numbers are different, thus I think the answer is 251
  11. agree with E all the rest have some problems
  12. congrats! its coooooooooooool! good luck!
  13. I like C the argument says: gov't has good intent, but by going X it motivates people to do smt that is infact opposite to what is the intent A: gov't has good intend, unfortunately what it does has no relationship with what is intended (doesn't have the same logic with the argument) B: gov't has an intent to help to smb, and it works even better than planned (so what? not even close to it...) C: gov't want to have save country, so it improves army. but supporting army leads to more frequent participation in conflicts = that is to opposite thing than intended D: gov't wants to help to investment, but it doesn't always work (sometines it does!) E: gov't passess some laws to make travel safer, it has no effect on safety (doesn't have the same logic with the argument)
  14. because the last part of sentence is there to modify the process only. Like this: Nuclear fusion is the force that powers the Sun, the stars, and hydrogen bombs, merging the nuclei of atmos rather than splitting them apart, as nuclear reactors do. If you use "and merges" it would mean there are two parallel things done: nuclear fusion is the force that powers...blah and that merges atoms... In fact, the way how it is done (second part of this sentence) should be subordinate to the first part of the sentence
  15. one more vote for C, OA please...
  16. casper: I believe, one should use "whether" when only two choices are present. Based on this assumption D and E should be incorrect! I don't see your point, how about choices whether yes or not? I think they are just two! anyhow D is right A: stage does not depend on mass B: same thing C: "After passing through a red giant stage" should be followed by "a star", not by its mass D: ok E:it is not mass of the star that passes through a red giant stage but rather star itself
