A) 1/10 B) 4/9 C)1/2 D) 3/5 E) 2/3 Thanks G My answer is A. Why it is incorrect? My working as follows: 3C2/6C2 = 1/5 - selecting 2 boys 3C2/4C2 = 1/2 selecting 2 girls from the rest 4. 18. A hiker walking at constant rate of 4 miles per hour is passed by a cyclist travelling in the same direction along the same path at a constant rate of 20 miles per hour. The cyclist stops to wait for the hiker 5 minutes after passing her, while the hiker continues to walk at constant rate. How many minutes the cyclist must wait until the hiker catches up? a) 6^2/3 b) 15 c) 20 d) 25 e) 26^2/3 I got an anwer of 'D', which is wrong. I did as follows: cyclist speed 20 miles in 60 minutes so for 5 minutes it is (20*5)/60 = 5/3 miles. Hiker speed 4 miles in 60 minutes so 5/3 miles (the miles to travel to catch the cyclist) = [(5/3) * 60]/4 = 25. Please explain your answer. Please explain what is wrong in my answer. Thanks
