  1. Got my official scores today...a 6.0 (95%) in AWA...unbelievable...so u can imagine my happiness... Newaz I have been off testmagic as was slogging over my applications. But I'll try n figure out how to upload the study material which helped me the most. Till then study hard and as my signature says...koshish karne walon ki haar nahi hoti:)
  2. Congratulations Animesh...I logged onto Test magic after ages...and saw ur score...damn neat:) Join the bandwagon of ppl struggling to meet second deadline! All the best...i think with that score u shud target some Tier 1 schools!
  3. Congrats Tweety! Brilliant score!!! all the best for applications!
  4. And thank you all for your wishes:)
  5. A little about my background...A graduate in design from NID,Ahmedabad, I have been away from Maths n English since the past 5 yrs...so the biggest challenge for me was to get back to studies per se. 3 months back I started thinking about giving GMAT and studying management but had no idea where to get started. A friends of my sister gave me the link to TM with the debrief of a person who scored 790...and that is how I started my studies:) About the exam: it was gmat prep standard completely...just be well-versed with the format and the question types there and actual day will be a breeze. One rule which I followed in quant, which saved me a lot of time was that I did not solve any data sufficiency...i simply did some mental maths and answered the ds. I had a lot of time(15 mins) for the last 7 questions...so it was cool. Verbal also (not as good as quant) was relatively within time. Only got I long RC (3 paras), the others were small ones...for a change they did not go above my head. Got one BF...can't say much about verbal as it should have been better. About prep : was studying full-time for a month completely and before that was studying off n on...the Kaplan workshops were a great help but teh best resources I got were on TM themselves. Shall mail portions of the Kaplan workshop which helped me, but right now need to rest my poor eyes... Key words: CONFIDENCE, BELIEF IN YOUR CAPABILITIES & TIME MANAGEMENT. A BIG thank you to Skarya (u're SC notes), Animesh (always questioning attitude), Tweety846, Nagar, Maverick, Charu, Clinton (for all the questions and logic) ...I am sure there are lots more but these are names I can think of at the back of my hand...and of course Bob n Erin for hosting such a wonderful platform. Till next time...ciao
  6. Hi everyone, Just returned after completing my GMAT. The score is already on the subject line...am very happy as that was my target...could have got more...but am a satisfied soul right now...My list of thanks can go on on on...just wanted to say that I started the journey with test magic and wanted to know that without TM... this score would not have been possible. a BIG THANK YOU!!! Regards, Shweta
  7. IMO C. maintains parallelism. What is OA?
  8. A. More than any other single element, the increase in art prices has been responsible for B. More than any single element, the increase in art prices has caused B says (IN THE ABSENCE OF OTHERS) that increase in the art pieces is the main reason whereas in A the pressure on increase in art prices as a reason is much less.
  9. The modifying clause a sequence.... should be as close to the noun "The Essential Lenny Bruce" as possible. Hence B. What is OA Animesh?
  10. Agree with C and reasons posted above.
  11. E is what I chose...Good to see that is the OA:) at least one i get right!
  12. At an enormous research cost, a leading chemical company has developed a manufacturing process for converting wood fibers into a plastic. According to the company, this new plastic can be used for, among other things, the hulls of small sailboats. But what does the company think sailboat hulls used to be made of? Surely the mania for high technology can scarcely go further than this. The author’s opinion of the manufacturing process described in the passage is based primarily on the fact that (A) plastic is unlikely to be durable enough for high-quality sailboat hulls if this were true the author would not be recommending the same (B) the research costs of developing the process outweigh any savings possible from the use of the plastic we are not talking about costs © a small sailboat is not normally regarded as a high-tech product incorrect (D) hulls for small sailboats can be made from wood without converting it into plastic correct (E) many other spheres of human activity are in far greater need of technological research - out of scope
  13. Lol...all this ME and AE went above my head initially...but when actually sat n thought it made sense. See where u r going with it SUiTHiNK...C is the correct answer.[clap]
  14. But then B is already stated in the stimulus. As Debarshi said an assumption has to go beyond the passage. What is the OA?
  15. I did not understand what the second last sentence is trying to say. And how can we conclude, what is concluded here on the basis of that. Can somebody please explain? Thanks a ton!
  16. Is it C? The subject would be a prominent Democrat & verb implied. What is OA?
  17. IMO B. In C it is not clear what is the 44% referring to...there has to be a soemthing to which it refers. So Incorrect
  18. It is an LSAT from 1000CR.
  19. If you read the remaining part of the sentence, then B will sound wrong. The remaining part requires Frederic to do all the action.
