I think that the problem with all these sentences are that they are not logical.
1. After reviewing the curriculum, several significant changes were made in traditional business programs at Harvard University.
I think it shoul be: After reviewing the curriculum, the committee made several significant changes in traditional business programs at Harvard University.
2. Banned in the U.S, (A) the effect of fluorocarbons continues (B) at a level that could eventually © damage the ozone layer, and bring about such (D) serious results as high risk of skin cancer and global climate changes.
How can you ban "the effect of fluorocarbons"??? You could ban "emmission of flourocarbons."
3. Having hit (A) more home runs than (B) any other player © in the history of baseball, Hank Aaron's record (D) is famous.
The record could not hit home runs, it must have been Hank Aaron. So the sentence should be: Having hit (A) more home runs than (B) any other player © in the history of baseball, Hank Aaron (D) is famous.
The things is that the first part of the sentence should have the same subject as the second part because it is ommited.
Compare:
Not having eated for 24 hours, I was starving.
I, not having eaten for 24 hours, was starving.
Tom, not having done his part of the project, made me furious.
Not having done his part of the project, Tom made me furious.
Hope it cleared a bit.
