  1. E seems to be correct to me .... C is wordy. D says " The author and poet Walt .... " I think the verb should be past continuous since the given sentence conveys the meaning that these two are beloved right from the past.... Correct me if iam wrong ...
  2. Thankx effective_factor .... [clap]
  3. My pick is also A .. parallelism maintained throughout A ...
  4. Could u ppl explain why E ... i couldnt understand ... :(
  5. Thanks for ur explanation 12rk34 ... even i made my mind towards B ... [clap]
  6. haa , a post from me after a long time .. was busy with my official work .. coming back to this cake walk SC ... D clearly maintains parallelism ... and morower it clears the ambiguity of pronoun 'IT' ... one can increase the amount rather than expanding the amount... So it is clearly D
  7. Awesome ..bulls eye ... i go wuth you ... initially i was misleaded by the word Worlds ... Now i am pretty clear ... thanks CARTERA
  8. IMO A .... extent to - idiomatic light has been shifted and not light shifted - B,D,E distorts the meaning of given sentence
  9. IMO B .. Extreme hard word is required of him to win the game Required of is idiomatic and thus B .. :D
  10. IMO E... The first half of the sentence is a adjective clause modifying incan highway so comma should be followed by noun the Incan highway. This leaves behind C,D,E. The point is incan highway still continues to extend 2500 miles. So the verb should be present participle and thus extending Hope this helps... Correct me if i am wrong people ... :D
  11. IMO A... D is illogical as it says " comparable skills are held by men " but the comparison is "jobs held my women to jobs held by men " Moreover 'requires' clearly tells u that the verb following it should be in subjunctive. B and E are ruled out for comparing jobs to job The prob with C is the use of "in jobs..." is awkward The use of in the sentence clearly says that "a clause is followed" so use of that is appropriate Hope this helps you....Correct me if iam wrong ....
  12. Joan of Arc, a young Frenchwoman who claimed to be divinely inspired, turned the tide of English victories in her country by liberating the city of Orleans and she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne. I go with D only .. The plot here is persuaded X to [do] Y ... In B persuaded X in Y is unidiomatic Hope this helps u !!!!
  13. While depressed property values can hurt some large investors, they are potentially devastating for homeowners, whose equity-in many cases representing a life's savings--can plunge or even disappear They - refers to values ( values - plural so it takes 'they' ) Whose - refers to homeowners So i go with A
  14. Mitzi , the plot here is as gifted as regarding the second part of the sentence : Although he is as gifted as many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and ( he - implicit) will not publish his poetry .Moreover his poetry is unpublished is passive and possesive case is absurd .... Am i right people ???? ;)
