  1. imo c... because a--highly controversial--no b--he inspired modern abstract artist... not necessarily was one himself. c-- he inspired modern abstract artist--in a way could help develop modernism---lets keep it for time d-- no e--no i think there is a tough choice between b and c... but i go with c
  2. The OA is B... :{... I am not very convinced.. I chose C over E. Because the spokesperson said that it was the well and not his plant that caused cancer. but the spokesperson did not say that the well had cancer causing chemicals. he just said that the wells were polluted. So, C weakened the spokespersons comment, in a way strengthening environmentalists argument.

    Thanks sj2025 ...
  4. Environmentalist: the increasing cases of cancer among our citizen is a result of hazardous material released at your plant. Company Spokesperson: Our statistics show that rates of cancer are high throughout the region in which the plant is situated because local wells that supply the drinking water are polluted , not because of the plant. which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the spokespersons argument. A) Statistics do not differentiate between the types of cancer B) Nearby communities have not changed their sources of drinking water C) Cancer causing chemicals used at the plant are discharged into the nearby river and find their way into local produces. D) The plant both uses and produces chemicals that cause cancer E) The cancer causing chemicals have been found in the well for decades. I dont think that this is a very authentic question...Please guys give your views. OA will follow
  5. Mary, a veterinary student, has been assigned an experiment in mammalian physiology that would require her to take a healthy, anesthetized dog and subject it to a drastic blood loss in order to observe the physiological consequences of shock. The dog would neither regain consciousness nor survive the experiment. Mary decides not to do this assignment. Mary’s decision most closely accords with which one of the following principles? (A) All other things being equal, gratuitously causing any animal to suffer pain is unjustified....unconcious ..no pain (B) Taking the life of an animal is not justifiable unless doing so would immediately assist in saving several animal lives or in protecting the health of a person...reason for experiment is only understanding animal physiology © The only sufficient justification for experimenting on animals is that future animal suffering is thereby prevented....doesnt say anything about the background reason. (D) Practicing veterinarians have a professional obligation to strive to prevent the unnecessary death of an animal except in cases of severely ill or injured animals whose prospects for recovery are dim....recovery is dim= no gain back conciousness..not the best choice but,,,least bad (E) No one is ever justified in acting with the sole intention of causing the death of a living thing, be it animal or human.,,,humans absolutely not in picture.
  6. IMO C. C says that " none of the technologies can be applied to traditional industries"-- Negate it. and the it should weaken the argument. New technologies can be applied to traditional industries as well. then.. sunlight... could be equally expensive or more expensive... at least it casts doubts on the conclusion.

  11. According to a recent study by Rutgers University, the number of women in state legislatures has grown in every election since 1968. (A) the number of women in state legislatures has grown (B) the number of women who are in state legislatures have grown © there has been growth in the number of women in state legislatures (D) a growing number of women have been in state legislature (E) women have been growing in number in state legislatures This is an OG 10 question, but i am not able to tell why D is wrong. Even after the official explanation. OA is
  12. IMO A. For me, it was between A and C. But C uses "can" in first part , and " must" in second. So picked A.
  13. IMO D. A --> B. this means that IF A happens B will happen for sure. But this does not mean that B can't have any other source. it uses scientific methods such as controlled experiments and statistical tests --> it is genuine science . This means If it uses scientific methods etc then it is genuine science for sure. But this simultaneously , doesn't stop any other cause for genuine science. so, option C is out because - Any enterprise that does not use controlled experiments and statistical tests is not genuine science. this is untrue. So, I think all other options except D have the same reasoning flaw.
  14. No. It is clear that them refers to laws. Them- used to refer to object. here Laws is a clear object. Also, by POE , A is best
  15. IMO E. From B, x can be both integer and fraction
  16. My doubt, what if X itself is a radical ie. x^ 1/3. then x^2 will be a fraction but x^3 will be an integer.... so i reject A X>Y and X^3 =y.... this is possible only if X is a -ve integer. ---Sufficient P.S: "NO" IS ALSO AN ANSWER My Ans B
  17. sj2025, I have taken a similar sentence from a grammar book. That is what has confused me.......
  18. Alexandra never insists that Michael call her after a date, but he does so anyway" is correct....no "s" after Call.... subjunctive,,,, missed out the "so" after does... Alexandra never insists that Michael call her after a date, but he does anyway
  19. There are more than forty newspapers published in the cities of Kerala, a state on the Malabar Coast, which reflects the fact that Keralans are by far India’s most literate citizens. (A) which reflects (B) and that number reflects © which reflect (D) that number reflects (E) that reflects OA My question: can which not modify the whole preceding clause. eg: Sam failed his maths exam, which surprised his friends. which surprised his friends. is a sentential clause that modifies the entire preceding clause. The Question is on similar lines... Isn't it. Then the answer could be A.
  20. IMO E You can't use equal or equivalent here. Because the subject is "democrats". So, you can't compare democrats are equal to republicans. had it been " there are about 100 million registered Democrats in the United States, a number equal to those who are registered as Republican voters.".. Probably then the answer would have been C.
  21. 1. Unlike their counterparts in other Western democracies, the American labor movement has never embraced revolutionary ideologies calling for the ultimate transformation of the economic order. (A) Unlike their counterparts in other Western democracies, the American labor movement has never (B) Unlike that of their counterparts in other Western democracies, the American labor movement has never © Unlike its counterpart in other Western democracies, the American labor movement never have (D) Unlike that of its counterparts in other Western democracies, the American labor movement never has (E) Unlike its counterparts in other western democracies, the American labor movement has never my question , Can we compare "the American labor movement" and "its counterparts". How can a movement have counterparts.A country can have counterparts. IMO the ans should be D. But OA is
