  1. 291 is not a good score. It will not take you to any good university. I will suggest you to take gre again. But at the end of the day its your decision :)
  2. Don't be worried about the ups and down in your scores it happens with everyone and when you give tests from two different publishers then the score will surely vary. What people generally do is give 4 to 5 tests of different publishers and difficulty level and take a average of all scores, this is the approximately where you stand. I don't have idea about the new score pattern so can't answer the 8 point swing.
  3. For old GRE there was audio wordlist from some professor. I remember listening to it travelling in local bus :D Search on google or look in orkut forums you will easily find it. They are helpful if you travel a lot or learn easily by listening to something.
  4. Join groups on facebook or orkut for Fall 2013. There you will find more people like you and can get a study partner.
  5. I can suggest you from my personal experience don't get anxious or worried for the test. It will deteriorate our score a lot. Maintain your calm and focus on the question thrown to you, don't think about the end result or your scores or what will be next question. Just concentrate on what you have on your screen. Prepare hard, work day and night and utilize your remaining days to max. You will surely score good :) ATB
  6. PhD :orange: Good ! Hope someday I also get enrolled in PhD Now coming to your question. 1. 15 days is not less. Just put your heart and soul in preparation and you will score good. Give some practice tests and focus on your weak areas and improve them. "Don't count the days, make them count" 2. You can get many sample test from kaplan, barrons etc. Remember save the powerprep for later ( 3 to 4 days before exam) 3. Search google and look in earlier post you will find tons of resource on how to prepare. Hope it helps
  7. @Healy : First of all I will like to apologize if my earlier post sounded harsh. I know I am not perfect. But anyone who is applying for graduation can write decent english sentences. 1. I just asked him if there is some problem with . key on his /her keyboard. 2. I requested him to write in proper English as his post was full of 3 - 4 words sentences and too many "." and lacked coherence. 3. Then I just gave him some suggestions from my side. I don't see anything harsh in my earlier post. :cold: I am sorry if i sounded arrogant and rude. @gredude : Exactly
  8. 1. Good score : If you want to make the best use of your work experience and land up in top-notch universities work very hard to get above 330 or minimum of 325+ 2. Prep Time: There is no well defined duration for this. I think it depends on the individual. Give a mock test see where you stand work on your weak areas and give few more mocks and when you think you are ready for it then give it. That does not mean you should take years to prepare and write GRE. Preparation time should fall between 2 to 6 months range. 3. Application Time: Dude you can see people in their 60s siting with you in the same grad class and doing their masters. As it is said "you are never old to learn". 3 years of work experience is going to be very useful for you as it will make your profile stronger. 4: I will suggest you to write GRE in june or july and followed by TOEFL and finish everything till august. So, you have sufficient time for applications. Believe me applications is also a hectic thing :D Since you are working and you will have limited time in a day to give towards application you must start applications early.

  10. 800 score were always tougher. For the old pattern also they used to throe bouncers. Don't worry about 800 scores results but give the mocks offered by them it will boost your confidence and also you will be able to handle whatever you get in quants

    PowerPrep

I don't have idea on the new power prep but the old one used to store answers until you start it again. Not sure I am confused with powerprep and other software.
  12. Fall as I said in your another post. Please don't create multiple thread for same questions.
  13. ETS official guide is the ideal place from where you can have a kick start.
  14. Is there some problem with you . key ? First learn to write in proper english if you are dreaming for higher studies else you land no where. Now coming to the point : 1. Good Score : A score above 310 - 320 will be good in GRE and above 100 in TOEFL 2. Research afterwards : What do you mean by that ? After joining the university or after your M. Sc degree ? Do you know there are option of degree with thesis and non-thesis ? Are you going for Ph.D. later ? 3. Course : You are going for your degree then it is on you to find the program which you want. If you want to know where to look around then it is simple look at the website of universities and the courses offered by them for your program. Improve your english writing skills. It is hard to find meaning from your post.
