how about lurk?
naw i vote for art, peot, block, economists, ME12, ecoetz, and resource. seven way tie brah.
also applicant12 gets the most adorble prize.
It's possible what you say could be misinterpreted. Also, I fool around sometimes so I might fall into that "jerk" category under some people's definition.
Also it's a little embarrassing to be on a forum lol. It's pretty nerdy, I'm not gonna lie, bro.
Hi Hedgequant. The problem is that business programs are so small that everyone will know who everyone is if they post stuff here. Also, applicants going to business phds tend to have more idiosyncratic backgrounds which also gives away identifies.
I can tell you that I know we had some good results (not talking about myself), especially in finance.
i didnt apply to any programs in manhattan because of cost of living. If you have lived in NYC on a budget you know what I'm talking about and it's simply not worth it.
Peot i think the tradeoff in quality of life is highly worth it. If you think you don't value weather (like everyone who lives on the east coast does..), just wait till you move to CA. Your utility fxn will change and you will wonder how you ever lived anywhere else.
I meant to ask your letter writers where they think your profile is competitive.
Some people apply to 20. Its a lot of work, so I said screw it and applied to like 10. It depends how competitive you are in the schools to which you are applying.
the search on this forum is broken and retarded, so i don't blame you!
But the best advice is to talk to professors, since they can better gauge everything about you than we can.
I wasn't referring to quality of life as it's related to income. :) But...if that is a HUGE factor for you (your MU of an extra unit of consumption at your current level is SO high) then you should go to Penn. But if other factors consider (like length of how long it will take you to complete the program, quality of offices for students, student happiness), then I would go UCSD.
