I work full time as a pharmacy technician, so I spent 2-3 hrs/day to study.. I also have kids which mean not everyday that I could do that. But on the weekend, I studied 4-8 hours/day (depend on family activities).
I listened to the online lecture twice. First round I listened to almost every chapters, focus on the common disease chapters first (DM, Hypertension, all kinds of heart disease, infectious disease, pain and psych, drug interaction is extremely important). I made my own flash cards which I used them to review all kind of stuff when I have a little free time like when I waited for my kids when they went to gymnastic class etc.. and also on the day before the exam.
Second round, I only reviewed the common diseases chapters with the online lectures but practice almost all the questions in their quiz bank. I used the app on iphone which made it easier for me to do the quiz anywhere at anytime I wanted..
The calculation part is also very important, there is no choices for you to choose, you have to answer in number.. so no "good luck" for this type of questions. Lucky that I'm good at that.. I think I passed the exam because of the calculations part. :) All you need is the 120 practice questions which has been posted somewhere in this forum.
Before the test days, I asked for day off from work and I had 4 full days to review everything before I went to the test at 8 am.
I went to bed early the night before the test day, woke up early and told myself that "I cannot know everything, do not worry, just do my best". Well, I was still nervous but I gotta do it. :)
All in all, I think I spent around 500 hrs in around 4 months.. the catch is I graduated 21 years ago from my home country.. this RxPrep helped me a lot because it was like I started from scratch.. If you're newly grad, you might not need to study hard like me though..
Good luck on your exam!
