  7. Hello, I would like to ask about how the process will go. I'm a Philippine resident and passport holder and assuming I would obtain a PharmD degree, which according to NABP is the equivalent degree to a US pharmacist. The NABP provides a test called FPGEE, which is to be taken INSIDE the USA. Are there tiny exceptions to cases like such? What I had in mind was: 1. Apply for the EB-2 visa (applies for me because I have a BS Pharmacy and PharmD degree) at the same time apply for a job in which an employer will sponsor me. 2. Arrive at the US, take the FPGEE and when passed I would take the State board and NAPLEX. Does it work this way? Because the FPGEE requires my physical presence in the USA, while I cannot do that without a visa. Now the dilemma is: I CANNOT APPLY FOR AN IMMIGRANT VISA IF I HAVE NO EMPLOYER, I WON'T HAVE AN EMPLOYER IF I DON'T PASS THE FPGEE. What may you suggest if this does not work? Thanks very much a detailed help or guide would be very much appreciated. Amby [
  8. Hi, I am a foreign pharmacy grad. I live in CA. I did my 1500 intern hours in community pharmacy setting. In 2014 I got my eligibility to take naplex, but I could not pass the naplex. Then due to family issues i was not able to take the exam untill now. However, when I applied for Pharamcy license exam, I got a deficiency letter asking for documents for my institutional hours. Since my intern license has been expired, I can not practice in any settings. Besides, I am confused why I got eligible in 2014 and now I can not. I would appreciate if you give me your advice. Thanks

  11. Hi, I am just finishing my internship in an independent pharmacy in Long Beach, California. The pharmacist is willing to consider taking another intern. It is a nice and quiet setting with an opportunity to learn a lot. We do compounding and work with medical equipment as well. It is a volunteer position for 1500 hours. If somebody is interested, please text me.
  12. Hi!! Does anybody has experience as pharmacy intern in Florida? ... I am making my search from Costa Rica, calling and sending emails, but without luck so far. I need some help (a lot!!) What's the best way to find a job as intern? Is it better in independent pharmacies, big chains, hospital? How long does the Board take to process the intern license? What's the average salary of an intern? I am planning to relocate to Florida in March, and I don't need sponsorship for visa. I will appreciate all your suggestions :):)

  14. Hi, I am new to this site/forum. I graduated this past May, and I am taking the NAPLEX September 28th. I have been using RxPrep to study and am basically almost through. However, if anyone has really old Prontopass Quickcards(I believe that's what the helpful cards with the silly sayings and photos are called)/ProntoPass anything that they would like to get rid of for a decent price, please let me know/contact me!! You don't even need to have the full set!! They don't have to be recent either; I'll take what I can get. I am mainly interested in methods to help me memorize topics I'm having trouble with. If only I were as inventive as the people who develop these cards. I'm as creative as a rock. Thank you!! Kindly, cp326

  19. I'm a foreign grad pharmacist and I recently passed NAPLEX just this week and it was my first attempt. I use RxPrep 2014 and ProntoPass Flash Card & Poster. PM me if interested. :) Maria
  20. Dear Forum, I just graduated and am preparing for the FPGEE using only APha and Lippincott pharmacology. I have some queries that I hope someone who has passed the exam will be able to answer: - Firstly, what kind of questions are on the FPGEE meaning do they give tricky questions or straight forward questions or are the questions conceptual or require memorizing? - Secondly, what should I focus on in pharmacology? The mechanism of Action, Dose, Side effects, brand names etc? What? - What should I memorize for this test? Any formulas or structures? - I am having trouble with Biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacokinetics. There are so many formulas and equations and maths problems that are impossible to memorize and are difficult to do. Please tell me what kind of questions regarding these topics appear on the exam and how should I memorize and better prepare for this portion? - Lastly any other helpful tips regarding this exam will be greatly appreciated. I am most worried about the calculations portion. Please give me input on that and the kind of questions they give. I look forward to hearing back from this forum. Thank you.
  21. I recently took the Naplex exam for the 2nd time, i believe the 1st time i wasn't ready but this time i was i did the Rxprep Book and examination very well along with the calculation section and the exam it self was easy for me i did find a lot of hard questions, yes i did miss some questions when i revised it in my head afterwards but i was pretty sure that i would pass and i need to re-score my exam just to feel that i did what could be done and that is truly my score (74).... so please let me know what are the procedures to apply for a a Re-Scoring because i looked all over the internet and nabp website and forums and i could not get an answer. P.s : i don't need people telling me don't do it its a waste of my time and money, because that was told to me before in my Toefl exam and i did a Re-score and got almost 10 more points that were more than i needed to pass, so i won't feel better till i go through this for the NAPLEX even if it was in vain . Thank you.
  22. I am an foreign graduate with FPGEC and NJ intern permit. I was looking into the regulations and requirements regarding initial licensure in NJ state. It says that foreign graduate must have a FPGEC and BS in pharmacy with 5 year course or Pharm. D. But NABP requires (for FPGEC) 4 year degree course if graduated before 1 Jan 2013 (which is in my case). Am I still eligible for NAPLEX for NJ state. Does anyone wrote NAPLEX for NJ with FPGEC in recent pass. Thanks
  23. Hey guys! I am very grateful for this forum, I wouldn't have passed my boards without you guys :-) Thank you! My Naplex Experience: I was B/C average student in school, if I can pass, you guys can too! I used the RXPREP book, which all you need and all I used. I read it twice over the course of 4 months, then 1 week before the NAPLEX I was studying intense with the book and bought the RXPREP quizes for $70 during that last week of studying. I also used the quizzes on Quizlet.com and the Prontopass online quizzes that range from $6-$15. The RXPREP quizzes are set up just like the real NAPLEX. That's all i used! NAPLEX EXAM ITSELF: I got a good sleep (I tried) I was so nervous! But when I walked into the exam room I was calm. The exam isn't the hardest thing in the world, but I prepared myself as if it was....but it wasn't. I still walked out of there unsure of how I performed though. I was numb and neutral. I got about 20 math, that were very easy (i only used the rxprep math to study + I am strong in math). The rest were case based questions, I had a few (3) easy one sentence questions. I had A LOT of cases. I ran out of time at the end and didn't answer 2 questions, including a math question that I wrote a random number in. Oh, and a little more than half of my math questions were fill in, so I had to make sure I calculated properly. I had no HIV, INFECTIOUS questions. All my questions were CARDIO, DIABETES, CHOLESTEROL. They have questions where they ask where does this drug work and they have a picture of the organ system and you have to click exactly where in the organ in works (ex. kidney). I took a break after 2 hours They give you dry erase pad of many pages to use Onscreen calculator, people say the can give you an actual one, if i knew i wouldve requested to save me time. the onscreen one is annoying to use. TIPS: Read questions carefully, but don't think too much Know how to read patient charts and look for unusual values and patient complaints Be strong in math, it carries more value in scoring, for obvious reasons in this profession I am so happy i passed! I just found out today and have been doing a chicken dance all over my house! LOL GOODLUCK. Ask me any questions!! :loveheart:
  24. I'm planning on taking the NAPLEX in November. Anyone willing to sell their rxprep qbank or online course access??
