Thanks for the detailed replies. All the inputs are really helpful. To be more specific about my case, I will be moving to twin cities area (UMN). I have got a few options that I am trying to find more information about. I hope to get things in order before start of the classes. On a related note, I am seeing that most of the apartments are unfurnished. One of the options is to rent furniture. I was wondering whether furniture renting is prevalent in the US?

Hi, Now that we are in, discussion on more earthly matters is in order... It is often recommended for students to visit the place before renting it (obviously makes sense!) but for some international students, it may not be feasible to visit twice. The temporary accommodation (in nearby inns and hotels) seems fairly expensive. Anyone facing this dilemma? Among the existing students, does someone know of an instance when tenant rented a residential unit before arrival? What are the implications? Also, what are the general issues one should keep in mind while renting a place in the US?

2014 Admission Results: Operations Management
gmatdanger replied to snickers's topic in PhD in Business
Hi urchers! I was away for some work for last few days. I am happy to note that I have accepted one of the 3 offers and have withdrawn from everywhere else.:eager: It has really been a delight + stressful experience! All I can say is that at the start of the season, I did not think that I will be the one saying 'No!".. But honestly, all the ad-coms that I had an opportunity to interact with were amazing. It really was hard to refuse the other offers but I am sure that I have made a right choice. All the best to everyone. :encouragement:- 142 replies

Not sure whether you are asking about doing interviews with different candidates in multiple slots or doing several rounds with a single candidate but I will poke nonetheless. I think the later is school specific. I was interviewed twice by two schools. In the first case, the school was upfront about 2 interviews as the standard procedure (albeit a new one even for them). In the second case, the second interview was an afterthought. It was for me and POI to have a more detailed discussion about my area of interest.

Thanks. This was one of my top choices. So I am super happy to get this.. :D

Yep. I had an interview followed by another one individually with POI :)
