  1. guyz seriously u r wasting ur time u wont get q like these I got questions all of which had at least 30 underlined words u r off traq
  2. Hi m goin to write gmat soon a quick question is the order of quant and verbal section fixed I don t want to be shocked by seeing verbal section before quant in the exam that is it is almost a guarantee that sections wud appear in order ?????? :hmm: they have done in all the mock tests but i remember reading somewhere that it can be reversed BTW is the order of essays too predecided ? A change in order is a slight disturbance in the thought process Thanks :grad::whistle:[dance]
  3. pradeep a pdf of the same is available still if u want to buy the same u can go ahead

fighter we use 1- no approach when finding probability of an event is more difficult than finding pr of event not happening e.g total of two dices adds upto at most 10 ... etc it s easier to list cases making 11 and 12 rather than all the cases below and = 10 :grad:

am sorry cud nt follow salila at all m getting 4/5 please find flaw in this line of reasoning even q is not so clear assuming it means no two persons making a couple should sit next to each other here s my way : total ways to make 5 ppl sit on 5 chair 5P5 = 5! now we find unfavorable cases : i.e when couples sit together there are 3 units which can be arranged in 3! ways dissecting further each individual can interchange his position in 2 ways so total ways 4 P ( couples sit together ) = 1/5 so P ( they don t ) = 4/5 5 +
  6. did u try kaplan 800 ?
  7. ashish verbal is quite imp and a good quant score is no substitute for verbal skills I would suggest a re take if u r aiming high another thing IIT would b ur biggest drawback rather than asset btw not many guyz around would know iit by any chance r u from k ?
  8. guyz let me summarize this discussion windows is evil solaris and linux are divine. Period.
  9. since no one seems to be replying, let me give it a shot first the q statement seems incomplete I assume it says that 2 notes are drawn without replacement in that case the 2 problems are entirely different in the first case whereas there was a compulsion tht both b and w must appear in the second q one or more categories may not appear at all the cost wud b so the probability of getting more than 30 $ is 1 - P(gettting both $10) - P (gettin 1 $10 1 $15) 1 - 10/45*9/44+10/45*15/44 plz post ur doubts
  10. i m sending this in a separate post as this is slightly complicated than the sol above the fundamental difference between the 2 cases is that for seating arrangement in circular fashion u don t have the refernce to start with but linear arrangement has that so u get one extra for the same case this explains the first 4! above
  11. it s quite simple the problem states there are 4 boys and 4 seats there are 4 gals and 4 seats so total ways they can sit is 4! x 4! now both can interchange so it becomes 2 x 4! x 4! this is in no way cicrular permutation

    Scoring 800

The point is - if you think you missed a question or you know you missed a question - don't panic because it just may be an experimental question - a 1 in 4 chance- --- great advice
