Does anyone know how waitlists work? I've had two schools tell me they expect to make me an offer on April 15 or 16, and to be ready to reply. Will they make an ultimatum like "here is funding, if you don't take it today, then we're moving on to the next person?"

I'm also sweating waiting to hear on waitlist options. I almost don't want to say their names on the forum yet in case I jinx them. But, considering the weird path I've taken to end up here, I'm pretty happy with this application season: 2 acceptances, 2 waitlists, 6 rejections.

Institution: University of Oregon Program: Economics PhD Decision: Accepted Funding: TBD in early March, mostly likely ($) Date: 2-15-18 Notified through: Email Comments: First acceptance! Overwhelming relief. Also, good omen that the acceptance came so early? (Oregon's application deadline was Feb 1)
