Hi all,
I'm wondering what types of schools I should apply to for my Phd in Economics.
A little bit about me: (note: I have not finished school yet and intend to take quite a few more math and econ classes)
Double major in math and econ at a top 30 public school
High GPA (3.95)
Math coursework: Calc I, Calc II, Vector Calc, Differential Equations, Discrete Math, Number Theory, Stochastic Processes, Topology I and II, Analysis I and II, Math Stats, Graduate Probability, Applied Number Theory
Econ coursework: Intro Micro, Intro Macro, Econ Stats, Micro Theory, Macro Theory, Game Theory, Econometrics I and II
Will complete an honors thesis in economics.
Research on an econ topic with guidance from a math faculty member
TA for Econ Stats
GRE: Verbal 167, Quant 162, Writing 5.0 (note: I intend to study and raise my quant score but I struggle with this test a lot)
Some programming experience
I want to study econometrics in graduate school. I hope to go to a top 30 school, but I understand my GRE scores are limiting.
Please help me consider my options for graduate school applications. I also appreciate any feedback on how to strengthen my profile.
