    Gre's structure

hi all! i'm preparing for the Gre now and intend to take the paper test on novembre, everything seem to be ok, but i'm still confused about the structure of the test. In the bulletin i download from ETS's site, there is no analytic section which i always encounter in every material ( like big book, cracking the Gre of princeton review for the CBT). So i don't know exactly what i'll see in the actual test:blush: . Hope someone can clarify it for me. One more thing, i'm really bad in writting ( have 3 for the writing in toefl last Mai), it's great if have you any suggestions to improve my writing's skill. thanks
  8. could anyone explain plzzz!
  9. i think it's a really good methode to learn vocas, i've tried to learn by heart the baron's word list but it seem doesn't work for me, the explaination is not clear so i must check out the Oxford advanced dictionnary. I find it easier with examples. however, i have tree months to prevail this challenge( i'll take GRE in Octobre too). Do you think it's enough to get 500 in voca part if i spend my whole 3 months in the summer on it.( my pro is just like aika, i'm not a native english speaker, so voca is my crucial weakness)! Thanks and hope we'll be success.

    Gre nova

HI! I've just finished my toefl test 1 week ago, and now i intend to prepare for the new test, harder:the gre. hope we'll hit it off. I have a question about materials: any one know about the "gre nova"?,is it reliable? thanks
  11. hehe thanks armie480, i didn't know that before, it make me sometimes confused.
  12. the possibility they mentioned here is that the aging detectors make a mistake in measure . therefore the answer is certainly D. answer A doesn't make sense. because after this story we know that the decline of the sun's output is real. So if you say "that the solar constant has declined is dismissed", it's contrary to the fact.
  13. 1.The technique of spectroscopy allows analyst of incoming light after it has been separated intoits component wavelengths by passage through a prism. the answer is A:analyst but i don't understand why we can use the infinitive "passage" after preposition "by".I think it would be "by passaging". Can any one clear it out for me? thanks
  14. Hi! I'm just a little curious about the GRE subject test. In fact, there are 8 kinds of Subjects, so if i'm an electrical engineer, what should i take? Math and physics? thanks a lot!
  15. Madeleine, i know all the schools you've listed above, i think they are really distinguished and difficult to get in, moreover the tuition is expensive!
  16. I don't think your rule is correct. For your sentence, we can write it seperately like this: Almost all hunter societies have a storyteller. The oral tradition of a tribe is vested in a storyteller. Because "a storyteller" is an object (people) and follow the preposition "in" so when you reduce these two sentences, you must keep the preposition too.

  19. Hi, can anyone track out these problemes for me? 1. The construction of new nuclear power plants and the disposal of toxic waste from existing one are two concerns raised by environmentalists. Answer: D. "one"->"ones". Please tell me what is the difference between "one" and "ones". 2. The early periods of aviation in the United States was marked by exhibition flights made by individual fliers or by teams of performers at country fairs Answer:A what is wrong?, and why we say "exhibition flights" but not "flight's exhibition" ? 3. While studying the chemistry of human body. Dr. Rosalyn Yalow won a Nobel Prize for the research she conducted on the role of hormones. Answer B: human body -> human bodies? 4. Recently in the automobile industry, multinational companies have developed to the point where such few cars can be described as having been made entirely in one country. Answer: B, "such few" -> " such a few"? Why we use this tense "having been done", I think it must be "have been made" Thanks!
