Do management/OB/strategy faculty in T50 departments have opportunities to consult on the side? Economics professors often serve as expert witnesses for litigation consulting firms. What are comparable options on the management side? -
Hi, I will be joining KU Leuven for an MSc in Economics this month. My intention is to graduate with top honours, work for one years as an RA (if I don't get RAship, I shall continue in my old career of management consulting for a year) and then apply for top 20 phD programs globally. Here's a brief description of my profile: 1. Bachelor of Technology from a Top 20 Engg. school in India (2010-14)- (Grade- 6.51/10, First Class) 2. Master in Business Administration from a Top 5 B School in India (2014-16)- (Grade- 65%, First Class) 3. Worked for Ernst and Young in as Consultant in the Management Consulting department (2016-18, 26 months) 4. GRE Score: 168 Q, 161 V My question is: Is KUL's reputation sufficient in the Economics domain to land me a top 20 phD opportunity post completing the course. Thanks -
Test Scores (GMAT): 710 (91%), Verbal 39 (89%), Quant 48 (69%) Undergrad GPA: 3.476 (Business Administration major at UC Berkeley) Work Experience: 2 years working at Accenture as a strategy analyst (typical strategy consulting work involving heavy research and analysis) Research Experience: No actual academic research experience. However, I've worked on providing research/support in writing a whitepaper in my consulting job. My other consulting projects also involved doing a heavy amount of research and analysis. Teaching Experience: No specific teaching experience. However, within my my consulting job, I've led trainings around different business material. I've also led business classes at a summer camp for middle school students. Concentration Applying To: Either Entrepreneurship, Strategy, or Pure business management Dream Schools: Harvard, INSEAD, London Business School, UCLA, among others Thank you!

Hi all, I have an offer from Queen’s starting May 2011 and need to respond in the next 3 days. I am struggling to understand if Queen’s would be the right fit for me. I am looking at Canadian MBA’s only Below is my background: Undergraduate from Canada – BSc – Biochemistry GPA approx 3.0 3.5 yrs post undergrad work experience in IT sales and sales management (mainly Canada and one year in India) GMAT 700 Looking to get into Consulting after MBA. Ivey is looking to be another good option, but is it worth to wait one more year and apply to Ivey, or the difference between these two schools isn’t that much to wait one more year?
