dileepsh
Can anybody please explain what the last 'it' is referring to. Its a [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] question and it says "A, the best choice, correctly focuses upon the recording system by making it the straightforward subject of the sentence and the logical referent of the pronoun it in the last line." but as far as i know , 'it' modifies the nearest noun , so isnt this 'it' referring to 'the White House' Can anybody please xplain ? We do not use IT to refer persons, instead we use He/She. White House Counsel must be referred by He/She, if at all wanted to refer. "IT" is the pronoun use to refer non-living things or animals. Hence 'IT' in the above system is clearly referring to The Recording system. Hope it clears.
