Rorschzch Test

1. The Rorschzch test is gaining new respect as a diagnostic tool because it takes only one hour to expose behavior and thought processes that may be unlikely to emerge in other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviewing.

(A) that may be unlikely to emerge in other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviewing

(B) whose emergence is unlikely in other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviews

© that might not emerge in other procedures or in weeks of ordinary interviews

(D) that may not emerge under other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviews

(E) unlikely not to emerge during weeks of ordinary interviewing or in other procedures

IMO D is the answer,

B is out because whose refers to person more importantly it's trying to place focus on the processes. A is just wordy. Between C and D I choose D because the sentence is it present sentence. Might is a past tense of may. But the way what's E.

too wordy and ordinary interviewing is not parallel.

(B) whose emergence is unlikely in other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviews - passive construct

© that might not emerge in other procedures or in weeks of ordinary interviews - correct

(D) that may not emerge under other procedures or weeks of ordinary interviews

I dont think emerge under is correct.

(E) unlikely not to emerge during weeks of ordinary interviewing or in other procedures

unlikely not changes the meaning.

D was quite close, but it has problem in preposition.

emerge under other procedures, or

emerge under weeks of ordinary interviews.

If we assume under to be the common preposition, then under weeks of ... does not sound OK.

If we do not assume under to be the common preposition, then there is NO preposition after or. Moreover, emerge in or emerge from are accepted forms. emerge under, which I rarely see, can better be replaced by emerge from.

option c and D are very close

In C, past tense 'might not' seems to be problematic ...preposition 'in' is more appropriate ..

option D uses the present tense 'may' but preposition 'under' seems just not right ..

i am confused how to arrive at the best answer in this case ..
